PENGARUH MOTIVASI DAN STATUS SOSIAL EKONOMI ORANG TUA TERHADAP MINAT MAHASISWA AKUNTANSI UNTUK MENGIKUTI PENDIDIKAN PROFESI AKUNTANSI (PPAk)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variabel motivasi kualitas, motivasi karir, motivasi ekonomi, dan status sosial ekonomi orang tua terhadap minat mahasiswa akuntansi mengikuti PPAk. Desain penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan data primer yang diperoleh dari data kuesioner yang diukur menggunakan skala likert. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jurusan Akuntansi Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 6 Jurusan Akuntansi Program S1 Undiksha yang berjumlah 370 mahasiswa. Metode penentuan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik purposive sampling. Untuk menghitung jumlah sampel digunakan rumus Slovin sehingga diperoleh jumlah sampel sebanyak 192 orang. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang kemudian diolah dengan uji analisis regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan SPSS versi 17 for windows. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa (1) motivasi kualitas berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa mengikuti PPAk, (2) motivasi karir berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa mengikuti PPAk, (3) motivasi ekonomi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa mengikuti PPAk, dan (4) status sosial ekonomi orang tua berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa mengikuti PPAk.

This study aimed at determining the effect of variables: quality motivation, career motivation, economic motivation, and socioeconomic status of parents on the interest of accounting students in following the education of accounting profession. The research design used in this study was quantitative research with primary data obtained from the questionnaire and measured by using Likert scale. This research was conducted at Accounting Department of Ganesha University of Education. The populations in this study were the 6th semester students of Undergraduate Program of Accounting Department of Ganesha University of Education which amounted to 370 students. Sample determination method used in this research was purposive sampling technique. To calculate the number of samples Slovin formula was used so that the number of samples was obtained as many as 192 people. The data of this study were collected by using questionnaires which were then processed by multiple linear regression analysis tests with the help of SPSS version 17 for windows. The results of this study indicated that (1) the quality motivation had a positive and significant effect on the interest of accounting students in following the education of accounting profession, (2) the career motivation had a positive and significant effect on the interest of accounting students in following the education of accounting profession, (3) the economic motivation had a positive and significant effect on the interest of accounting students in following the education of accounting profession, and (4) the socioeconomic status of parents had a positive and significant effect on the interest of accounting students in following the education of accounting profession.
