RESEARCH ABOUT NUMBER OF POPULATION, BIOECOLOGYS CHARACTERISTIC, AND CONSERVATION EFFORT JAVAN POND-HERON (Ardeola speciosa) IN PETULU VILLAGE, UBUD DISTRICT, GIANYAR

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jumlah populasi, relung tropik dan upaya pelestarian burung Blekok Sawah (Ardeola speciosa) di Desa Petulu. Populasi penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan burung Blekok Sawah (Ardeola speciosa) yang terdapat di Desa Petulu. Sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh populasi burung Blekok Sawah (Ardeola speciosa). Penelitian ini termasuk kedalam deskriptif eksploratif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan Jumlah populasi burung Blekok sawah (Ardeola speciosa) ialah 2.450 ekor. Relung habitat terdapat 12 jenis pohon, kelembaban berkisar antara 80% sampai 82 %, rata-rata suhu lingkungan 26,30C sampai 27,80C, intensitas cahaya, pagi hari 350 lux, siang hari 1885 lux, dan sore hari 575 lux, ketinggian tempat 250 meter diatas permukaan laut. Jenis makanan burung Blekok sawah (Ardeola speciosa) terdiri dari 8 spesies hewan, predator burung ini ialah musang dan ular. Upaya pelestarian yang telah dilakukan ialah melindungi burung dari pemangsa, melindungi habitat, membuat hutan buatan dan melarang orang memburu burung Blekok Sawah (Ardeola speciosa).

The purposes of this research were to knows number of population, habitat niches, tropical niches and conservation effort of Javan pond-Heron bird (Ardeola speciosa) in Petulu village. The population of this research was all of Javan Pond-Heron (Ardeola speciosa) located in Petulu village. The sample of this research is all about the population of Javan Pond-Heron (Ardeola speciosa). Numbers of population of javan Pond-Heron bird (Ardeola speciosa) were 2.450 tails. In habitat niches, there are 12 species of tree, the average humidity is between 80% until 82%, the average temperature of environment is 26.30C until 27.80C, the light intensity in the morning is 350 lux, in the afternoon is 1885 lux, and in the evening is 575 lux, the altitude is 250 meters above the sea level. Kinds of food of Javan Pond-Heron (Ardeola speciosa) are 8 species of animal. The predators of this bird are weasel and snake. Conservation efforts which have been done are protecting the birds from predators, and keep the habitat, making synthetic forests and prohibiting people to hunt Javan Pond-Heron (Ardeola speciosa).
