Abstract

Atlas moth is now difficult to find in nature Bali. This was caused by the mating process to be difficult, the threat of attack by predators, environmental change, and human.Atlas moth is feared to be extinct, so that the necessary conservation efforts. Feed is one of the things that affect growth and development, as well as the rate of metamorphosis moth atlas. This study aims to (1) determine differences in the rate of metamorphosis moth atlas with different feeding and (2) determine the type of feed that can produce the most rapid rate of metamorphosis. This research is a real experimental design with the posttes-only control group design. In this study using 30 samples instar larvae I. Based on the results of the study indicate differences in rates of metamorphosis by feeding different. Feed leaves dadap produce the fastest average rate of metamorphosis, ie 70.6 days with a mean egg phase for 10 days, 32.2 days during the larval stage, pupa for 23 days, and the imago phase for 5.4 days.
