PENERAPAN MEDIA FOTO JURNALISTIK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS BERITA PADA SISWA KELAS VIIIB SMP NEGERI 2 KUBUTAMBAHAN BERDASARKAN UNSUR 5W + 1H

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah pembelajaran menulis berita berdasarkan unsur 5W + 1H dengan menerapkan media foto jurnalistik pada siswa kelas VIIIB SMP Negeri 2 Kubutambahan; (2) mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis berita berdasarkan unsur 5W + 1H dengan menerapkan media foto jurnalistik pada siswa kelas VIIIB SMP Negeri 2 Kubutambahan; dan (3) mendeskripsikan respons siswa terhadap penerapan media foto jurnalistik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis berita pada siswa kelas VIIIB SMP Negeri 2 Kubutambahan berdasarkan unsur 5W + 1H. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru bahasa Indonesia dan siswa kelas VIIIB SMP Negeri 2 Kubutambahan. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, tes, dan kuesioner. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) peningkatan siswa dalam menulis berita berdasarkan unsur 5W + 1H dengan menggunakan media foto jurnalistik. Hasil yang diperoleh juga meningkat; (2) skor rata-rata siswa pratindakan adalah 65 (cukup). Pada siklus I, skor meningkat menjadi 74,4 (baik), dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 79,4 (baik); dan (3) respons siswa yang berkaitan dengan minat, bakat, sikap, motivasi, dan tujuan juga meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II, yakni dari 42,5 (positif) menjadi 47,3 (sangat positif). Peneliti menyarankan agar hasil penelitian ini, yakni media foto jurnalistik dapat diterapkan oleh guru bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis berita.Kata Kunci : foto jurnalistik, menulis berita, penerapan unsur 5W +1H
The objective of this research are (1) to describe the steps of the learning to write news based on the prinsiple 5W + 1H with the implementation media journalistic photo on the students class VIIIB SMP Negeri 2 Kubutambahan; (2) to describe the students enhancement of write news based on prinsiple 5W + 1H with the implementation media journalistic photo the eighth B grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Kubutambahan; and (3) to describe students respond of the implementation of media journalistic photo for ability the writing news with the implementation media journalistic photo the eighth B grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Kubutambahan based on the prinsiple 5W + 1H. This research was classroom action research. The subject of this research is the eighth B grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Kubutambahan. The method that were used to collect the data were observation, and questionnaire test. The data were analyzed by using quantitative and qualitative analysis technique. The result of research showed that was (1) enhancement of teachers and students activity in learning to write news based on the prinsiple 5W + 1H with the implementation media journalistic photo. The findings clearly increased too; (2) the mean score of the students was 65 (enough). In the first cycle the score increased to 74,4 (good), and more increased in cycle II to 79,4 (good); and (3) the student’s respond which related to their interests, talents, attitudes, motivations, and intensions also increased in cycle I to cycle II from 42.5 (positive) to 47,3 (very positive)f. The researcher suggest the finding of this, namely media journalistic photo research could applied by Indonesia language teachers to increase the students to students enhancement of write news.
