PENGGUNAAN METODE MEMBACA PQRST UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MERANGKUM TEKS BACAAN SISWA KELAS XI IPS 3 SMA NEGERI 3 SINGARAJA

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru bahasa Indonesia kelas XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja dalam menerapkan metode membaca PQRST guna meningkatkan kemampuan siswa merangkum teks bacaan, (2) mendeskripsikan aktivitas siswa kelas XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja dalam pembelajaran merangkum teks bacaan dengan menggunakan metode membaca PQRST, (3) mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan merangkum teks bacaan siswa kelas XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja dengan menggunakan metode membaca PQRST, dan (4) mendeskripsikan respons siswa kelas XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja terhadap penerapan metode membaca PQRST guna meningkatkan kemampuan merangkum teks bacaan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPS 3 SMAN 3 Singaraja dan objek yang dikaji adalah aktivitas guru dan siswa siswa selama pembelajaran merangkum dengan metode membaca PQRST, kemampuan siswa merangkum teks bacaan, dan respons siswa terhadap penggunaan metode membaca PQRST selama merangkum teks bacaan. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, tes, kuesioner, dan wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan aktivitas guru dan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran merangkum teks bacaan dengan menggunakan metode membaca PQRST. Hasil belajar yang diperoleh juga meningkat. Skor rerata siswa sebelum tindakan adalah 65,14. Pada siklus I, skor meningkat menjadi 77,18, dan meningkat lagi pada siklus II menjadi 87,14. Respons siswa yang berkenaan dengan minat, sikap, bakat, motivasi, dan tujuan juga meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II, yakni dari 41,14 menjadi 44,11. Peneliti menyarankan agar hasil penelitian ini dapat diterapkan oleh guru bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa merangkum teks bacaan.Kata Kunci : metode membaca, PQRST, merangkum
This study aimed to describe (1) the activity of Indonesian teachers XI IPS 3 SMA 3 Singaraja in applying reading PQRST method to improve students' ability to summarize text reading, (2) the activity of class XI IPS 3 SMA 3 Singaraja in the text summarizes the learning reading by reading PQRST method, (3) an increase in the ability to summarize text reading class XI IPS 3 SMA 3 Singaraja using PQRST reading, and (4) the response of class XI IPS 3 SMA 3 Singaraja to the application of the method to read PQRST to improve the ability of summarizing the reading text. This research is a class action research. The subjects were students of class XI IPS 3 SMAN 3 Singaraja and objects studied are all teachers and students for teaching students to summarize the PQRST method of reading, the reading ability of students to summarize text, and the response of students to use reading PQRST method for summarizing the reading text. Data collection method used is the method of observation, tests, questionnaires, and interviews. Data were analyzed with the technique of quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in the activity of teachers and students in learning activities encapsulate reading text reading using PQRST. The results obtained also increases learning. Mean score of the students was 65.14 before action. In the first cycle, the score increased to 77.18, and increased again in the second cycle becomes 87.14. Student responses with respect to interest, attitude, aptitude, motivation, and goal also increased from the first cycle to the second cycle, that is from 41.14 into 44.11. Researchers suggest that these results can be applied by Indonesian teachers to improve students' ability to summarize the reading text.
