PENGGUNAAN TEKNIK 5W+1H UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMAHAMI UNSUR INTRINSIK CERPEN MELALUI MEMBACA KRITIS DI KELAS VII C SMP NEGERI 3 SINGARAJA

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui langkah-langkah penerapan teknik 5W+1H melalui membaca kritis dalam pembelajaran memahami unsur intrinsik cerpen, (2) mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan memahami unsur intrinsik cerpen siswa kelas VII C SMP Negeri 3 Singaraja setelah penerapan teknik 5W+1H melalui membaca kritis, (3) mengetahui respons siswa terhadap penerapan teknik 5W+1H melalui membaca kritis dalam pembelajaran memahami unsur intrinsik cerpen. Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas VII C SMP Negeri 3 Singaraja. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode observasi, metode tes dan kuisioner. Pada metode observasi, data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Pada metode tes, data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan pada metode kuisioner, data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Dengan prosedur di atas, didapatkan hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. (1) langkah-langkah pembelajaran yang efektif, terdiri atas, a) memerhatikan kondisi belajar, b) memberikan materi tentang cerpen dan unsur intrinsiknya, c) memberikan contoh cerpen yang dikenal siswa, d) membentuk kelompok, e) mengklarifikasi jawaban dari masing-masing kelompok, f) memberikan tes, g) mengumumkan skor kemajuan individu, h) menyimpulkan serta menutup pembelajaran, (2) terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata kelas setelah penerapan teknik 5W+1H melalui membaca kritis, dengan perolehan skor pada pembelajaran sebelumnya. Sebelum penelitian (refleksi awal), skor siswa mencapai rata-rata 68,83 (cukup). Pada siklus I, rata-rata skor siswa meningkat menjadi 70,14 (baik) dan pada siklus II, mengalami peningkatan menjadi 78,55 (sangat baik), (3) Respons siswa sangat positif dalam pembelajaran memahami unsur intrinsik cerpen dengan menerapkan teknik 5W+1H melalui membaca kritis.

The purpose of this research are 1) to know the steps of applying technique 5W + 1H through critical reading in the learning process to comprehend the intrinsic unsure of short story, 2) to know the progression of comprehend ability about intrinsic unsure of short story in class VII C SMP N 3 Singaraja after applying technique 5W + 1H through critical reading, 3) to know the students’ respond about the applying of technique 5W+1H through critical reading in the learning process to comprehend the intrinsic unsure of short story. This research was designed as Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (classroom action research). The subjects of this research are teacher and students of SMP N 3 Singaraja, especially the students in class VII C. This research was done by some methods, such as observation, test and questioner. In observation method, data was analyzed by descriptive qualitative. In test method, data was analyzed by descriptive quantitative and in questionnaire method, data was analyzed by descriptive qualitative and quantitative. By the procedures above was got the result of this research as follow. 1) the effective learning steps are a) pay attention to learning situation, b) giving material and intrinsic unsure about short story, c) giving the example of short story that students knows, d) making group, e) clarifying the answer of each group, f) giving test, g) publishing individual score development, h) concluding and closing the learning process. 2) Has occurred the progression of students mean score after applying technique 5W+1H through critical reading by compare it with previous lesson. Before the research (first reflection), students mean score is 68,88 (enough). On the first stage, the students mean score are develop into 70,14 (good) and in second stage develop into 78,55 (excellent), 3) the students’ respond is positive in comprehending the intrinsic unsure of short story in using techniques 5W+1H through critical reading.
