KESANTUNAN BAHASA SISWA KELAS X SMA NEGERI 1 SELEMADEG DALAM DEBAT PADA PEMBELAJARAN BERBICARA

Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) wujud kesantunan bahasa yang digunakan oleh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Selemadeg dalam debat, (2) kesantunan bahasa siswa yang hendak dicapai oleh guru dalam debat pada pembelajaran berbicara di kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Selemadeg, (3) aktivitas berbicara dalam debat di kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Selemadeg. Untuk mencapai tujuan itu, penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah (1) guru mata pelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia yang mengajar di kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Selemadeg, dan (2) siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Selemadeg. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan tiga metode pengumpulan data. Pertama, metode observasi atau pengamatan, yang kedua adalah metode wawancara, dan yang ketiga adalah metode dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan data yang dianggap perlu dan penting untuk diketahui. Data-data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan model analisis deskriptif kualitatif melalui (1) reduksi data, (2) penyajian data, dan (3) penyimpulan dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini 1.Wujud kesantunan bahasa yang digunakan oleh siswa kelas X SMA N 1 Selemadeg dalam debat adalah bahasa yang santun dan sesuai dengan prinsip kesantunan berbahasa. Siswa mampu mengungkapkan pendapat yang logis secara lancar dan sopan dengan memperhatikan aturan-aturan debat. 2.Kesantunan bahasa siswa yang hendak dicapai oleh guru adalah kesantunan berbahasa menurut (Leech, 1986). Empat prinsip tersebut adalah (1) prinsip kesopanan, (2) pemakaian kata tabu, (3) penggunaan eufemisme, (4) penggunaan kata honorifik. 3.Pada pembelajaran berbicara dalam debat yang dikembangkan guru, pada umumnya siswa aktif dan kritis. Di samping siswa yang aktif dan kritis, ada juga beberapa siswa yang pasif dan kurang berkontribusi dalam kelompok pada saat pembelajaran berbicara dalam debat berlangsungKata Kunci : kesantunan bahasa, debat, pembelajaran berbicara
This descritive qualitative study aimed at describing (1) a form of politeness language used by tenth grader of SMA N 1 Selemadeg in debate (2) Student’s politeness language that want to be achieved by the teacher in debate on speaking class of tenth grader of SMA N 1 Selemadeg (3) Speaking activity in debate of tenth grader of SMA N 1 Selemadeg. To achieve the goal, this study used a descriptive qualitative study design. The subject of this study were: (1) Indonesian language teacher of tenth grader of SMA N 1 Selemadeg and (2) tenth grader students of SMA N 1 Selemadeg. The obtained were analyzed using descritive qualitative analysis model : (1) data reduction, data classification, data description and (3) data inference. The result of this study were : (1) the form of politeness language used by tenth grader of SMA N 1 Selemadeg in debate was polite language and based on the principles of language politeness. The students were able to express their opinions in logic and polite way and also they think about the rules of debate. (2) Students politeness language that want to be achieved by the teacher was polite language according to ( Leechc, 1986). Those foure principles are: (1) Politeness principle, (2) the use of taboo words, (3) the use of euphemisms, (4) the use of honorifics. (3) Speaking skill debate that developed by the teacher were active and critical thinking students. Moreover, not only active active and critical thinking students, there were also some pasif students who had less contribution among their group in speaking activity of debate.
