PENERAPAN METODE SQ3R BERBANTUAN MEDIA CERPEN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS XI IPS SMA NEGERI 2 GEROKGAK

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa sehingga tercapainya tingkat ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa pada kegiatan membaca pemahaman berbantuan media cerpen dengan menggunakan metode SQ3R, (2) mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah pembelajaran yang tepat dengan menerapkan metode SQ3R berbantuan cerpen untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa, dan (3) mendeskripsikan respons siswa terhadap penerapan metode SQ3R berbantuan cerpen untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru bahasa Indonesia dan siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Gerokgak yang berjumlah 36 orang. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode (1) observasi (2) angket, dan (3) tes. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif-kualitatif dan deskriptif-kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian pada tes membaca pemahaman melalui metode SQ3R berbantuan media cerpen menunjukkan bahwa (1) penerapan metode SQ3R berbantuan media cerpen mampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Gerokgak yang ditandai dengan peningkatan perolehan skor rata-rata menulis cerpen siswa dari 77,5 pada siklus I menjadi 83,5 pada siklus II, (2) terdapat beberapa langkah yang tepat dalam penerapan metode SQ3R berbantuan media cerpen yaitu, langkah pertama siswa diminta membaca sebentar cerpen tersebut (survey), langkah kedua guru menjelaskan cara membuat pertanyaan (question), selanjutnya guru menjelaskan cara membaca dan menjawab pertanyaan dan (3) siswa memberikan tanggapan sangat positif terhadap penerapan metode SQ3R berbantuan media cerpen. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penulis menyarankan kepada guru bahasa Indonesia di SMA Negeri 2 Gerokgak agar menerapkan metode SQ3R berbantuan media cerpen sebagai metode alternatif.Kata Kunci : metode SQ3R, media cerpen, membaca pemahaman
Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims (1) to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes to achieve mastery level student learning outcomes in reading comprehension used SQ3R method in short story, (2) to describe learning steps used SQ3R method in short story to improve students 'reading comprehension, and (3) to describe students’ response when applying SQ3R method in short story to improve students' reading comprehension. The subjects of this study were Indonesian teachers and students of social IX class in SMAN 2 Gerokgak totaling 36 people. Collecting data in this study was conducted using (1) observation (2) questionnaires, and (3) test. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques and descriptive quantitative technique. The results of this study on reading comprehension tests used SQ3R method in short story indicate that (1) the application SQ3R method used short story is able to improve students' reading comprehension of social IX class in SMAN 2 Gerokgak characterized by the increasing of average score from 77,5 in first cycle into 83,5 in the second cycle, (2) there were several proper steps in applied SQ3R method in short story, the first step students were asked to read a short story (survey), the second step teacher explained how to make questions ( question), then the teacher explained how to read and answer the questions, and (3) students responded highly positive to the application of SQ3R method in short story. Based on these results, the writer suggest to the teacher of Indonesian subject at SMAN 2 Gerokgak to apply the SQ3R method in short story as an alternative method.
