COOPERATIVE INTEGRATED READING AND COMPOSITION (CIRC) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA RESPONSIF PADA SISWA KELAS VIII. I SMP NEGERI 1 GEROKGAK Md. Afpri Yantini, I Nym. Seloka Sudiara, I Md. Astika Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha Singaraja, Indonesia e-mail: {madeafpriyantini@ymail.com, seloka_sudiara@yahoo.co.id, tulanggadang@yahoo.com}@undiksha.ac.id Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam penerapan model pembelajaran CIRC untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca kritis atau responsif siswa di kelas VIII. I SMP Negeri 1 Gerokgak, (2) mendeskripsikan meningkatkan kemampuan membaca kritis atau responsif siswa melalui model pembelajaran CIRC pada siswa kelas VIII. I SMP Negeri 1 Gerokgak, dan (3) mendeskripsikan respons siswa terhadap penerapan model pemebalajaran CIRC untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca kritis atau responsif siswa di kelas VIII. I SMP Negeri 1 Gerokgak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII. I SMP Negeri 1 Gerokgak dan objek yang dikaji adalah aktivitas guru dan siswa siswa selama pembelajaran membaca responsif dengan model pembelajaran CIRC, kemampuan membaca responsif siswa, dan respons siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran CIRC selama pembelajaran membaca responsif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, tes, kuesioner, dan wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan aktivitas guru dan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran membaca responsif dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran CIRC. Hasil belajar yang diperoleh juga meningkat. Skor rerata siswa pratindakan adalah 69,7. Pada siklus I, skor meningkat menjadi 79,8, dan meningkat lagi pada siklus II menjadi 82,7. Respons siswa yang berkenaan dengan minat, sikap, bakat, motivasi, dan tujuan juga meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II, yakni dari 45 menjadi 47,02. Peneliti menyarankan agar hasil penelitian ini dapat diterapkan oleh guru bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca responsif siswa model CIRC, membaca responsif, kemampuan membaca siswaKata Kunci : model CIRC, membaca responsif, kemampuan membaca siswa

I class SMP Negeri 1 Gerokgak, (2) describe to improve the students’ responsive reading ability through CIRC for the students in VIII. I class SMP Negeri 1 Gerokgak, and (3) describe the students’ response to CIRC learning model to improve their responsive reading ability in VIII. I class SMP Negeri 1 Gerokgak. This research is a class action research. The subject are one of Indonesian teachers and the students in class VIII. I SMP Negeri 1 Gerokgak and the investigated object were the activity of the teacher and students during the learning process of responsive reading by CIRC model, the students’ responsive reading ability, and the students’ response to the learning model assembling of CIRC in responsive reading learning process. The collecting data used observation method, test, questioner, and interview. The data is analysed by quantitative and qualitative data analysis technique. The result of this research shows that there is the improvement of the teacher and students’ activity in learning responsive reading by assembling CIRC model. The result of learning also get the improvement. The average score of the pre test is 69,7. In first cycle, the score becomes 79,8, and then get the improvement in second cycle is 82,7. The students’ response that consider to the interest, attitude, talent, motivation, and the purpose also get the improvement from first cycle to second cycle, that is from 45 to be 47,02. The researcher suggests that the result of this research can be applied by the Indonesian teacher to improve the students responsive reading ability.
