ANALISIS KALIMAT EFEKTIF CERPEN SISWA KELAS IX SMA NEGERI 1 TAMPAKSIRING

Abstract

Penelitian yang menggunakan rancangan deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) penggunaan kalimat efektif yang ada dalam cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Tampaksiring, (2) kendala-kendala penyusunan kalimat yang dihadapi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Tampaksiring dalam menulis cerpen. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Tampaksiring dan objek penelitian ini adalah penggunaan kalimat efektif dalam cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Tampaksiring ditinjau dari segi syarat kalimat efektif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode dokumentasi dan metode wawancara. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) penggunaan kalimat dalam cerpen sudah sesuai dengan ciri-ciri kalimat efektif, yaitu keutuhan (kesatuan), keterpaduan, keringkasan, dan keterpusatan perhatian berhubungan dengan struktur atau interelasi (penekanan) sehingga cerpen siswa menarik untuk dibaca. (2) Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi oleh siswa dalam penyusunan kalimat efektif, yaitu siswa kurang memahami unsur-unsur kalimat, siswa kurang percaya diri dengan hasil/kalimat yang ditulis, siswa kurang bisa memanfaatkan kata-kata dalam menyusun kalimat, siswa sulit dalam menghubungkan kalimat satu dengan kalimat lainnya, dan siswa sulit membedakan antara awalan dengan kata depan. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kalimat yang dibuat oleh siswa sudah sesuai dengan ciri dan syarat kalimat efektif, serta kendala siswa lebih banyak ada pada pemahaman tentang unsur-unsur kalimat karena kondisi kelas kurang kondusif saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Untuk itu, disarankan kepada guru agar lebih mengondisikan kelas sehingga siswa dapat belajar dengan baik, terutama terhadap siswa yang kurang memahami pemakaian unsur-unsur kalimat yang baik.

This research is a descriptive qualitative, aimed at describing (1) the use of sentences in short story made by second grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tampaksiring, (2) the obstacles of second grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tampaksiring in arranging the effective sentence towrite a short story. The subjects of this research are second grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tampaksiring andthe objects are the short story made by students of SMA Negeri 1 Tampaksiring. The data collectingmethods are documentation and interview method. After the data have been collected, they are analyzed further by descriptive qualitative research. The result show that (1) the use of sentences in short story are correspond with characteristics of effective sentence, namely integrality, integration, brevity, and centering of attention related with structure or interrelation (accentuation) so that the students’ short story are interested to be read. (2) the obstacles of the students in arranging the effective sentences, such as the students less understand the unsure of the sentences, studentslessconfidence with the result of the sentences that they write, students less in exploiting the words in arranging the sentences, students hard to correlate the sentence with the others, and students hard to distinguish between prefix and preposition. Base on the result and discussion, can be concluded that the sentences which are made by the students are correspond with characteristics of effective sentence, and the students’ obstacles is more on comprehension about the unsure of sentence because of classroom condition is less conducive when the learning process is held. Therefore, is recommended for the teacher to more condition the class in order to make the students be able to study well, especially for the students with less comprehension in using the appropriate sentences unsure.
