Meningkatkan Keterampilan Menulis Karangan Deskripsi Melalui Kegiatan Belajar di Luar Kelas dengan Pendekatan Kontekstual pada Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada

Penelitian tindakatan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) langkah-langkah peningkatan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui kegiatan belajar di luar kelas dengan pendekatan kontekstual, (2) hasil belajar keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui kegiatan belajar di luar kelas dengan pendekatan kontekstual, dan (3) respons siswa terhadap penggunaan peningkatan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui kegiatan belajar di luar kelas dengan pendekatan kontekstual pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas VII D SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada. Objek penelitian ini adalah peningkatan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui kegiatan belajar di luar kelas dengan pendekatan kontekstual pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, tes, dan angket/kuesioner. Ada empat prosedur dalam penelitian tindakan kelas, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) langkah-langkah pendekatan kontekstual melalui kegiatan belajar di luar kelas dilakukan dengan baik oleh guru, dari kegiatan awal hingga kegiatan akhir. (2) Terjadinya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui kegiatan belajar di luar kelas dengan pendekatan kontekstual, yaitu pada siklus 1 sebesar 78,86, pada siklus 2 sebesar 86,95. (3) Siswa merespons positif terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran yang telah dilaksanakan, yaitu ketika guru menerapkan pendekatan kontekstual melalui kegiatan belajar di luar kelas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi dapat ditingkatkan melalui kegiatan belajar di luar kelas dengan pendekatan kontekstual. Untuk itu, disarankan kepada guru Bahasa Indonesia agar menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dalam pembelajaran menulis deskripsi melalui kegiatan belajar di luar kelasKata Kunci : karangan deskripsi, outdoor, dan pendekatan kontekstual
This classroom action research aims to find out (1) step by step description of essay writing skills improvement through learning activities outside the classroom with a contextual approach, (2) the learning outcomes descriptions essay writing skills through activities outside of the classroom learning with contextual approach, and (3) The students' response to the use of essay writing skills improvement through the description of learning activities outside the classroom with a contextual approach in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada. The research subjects were teachers and students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada. The object of this study is the description essay writing skills improvement through learning activities outside the classroom with a contextual approach in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukasada. Data collection method used is the method of observation, testing, and questionnaires. There are four procedures in classroom action research, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed that (1) a step by step approach through contextual learning activities outside the classroom to do well by the teachers, from the beginning to the end of activities activities. The improvement of student learning outcomes through activities outside the classroom learning with contextual approach, ie in cycle 1 at 78.86 in cycle 2 at 86.95. (3) students responded positively to the learning activities that have been implemented, ie when teachers apply the contextual approach through learning activities outside the classroom. Based on the results of research and discussion, we can conclude that the results of students in essay writing descriptions can be enhanced through learning activities outside the classroom with a contextual approach. For that, it is suggested to Indonesian teachers to use a contextual approach in learning to write descriptions through learning activities outside the classroom.
