PENERAPAN MODEL BLENDED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI DAN PRESTASI BELAJAR IPA SISWA

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan (1) meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, (2) meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa dan, (3) mendeskripsikan tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan model blended learning. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research). Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus pembelajaran, tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu 1) perencanaan, 2) pelaksanaan, 3) observasi/evaluasi, dan 4) refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII B SMP N 2 Sawan semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 27 orang. Data motivasi belajar IPA dikumpulkan dengan angket motivasi belajar, sedangkan data prestasi belajar IPA dikumpulkan dengan tes pilihan ganda. Data tanggapan siswa dikumpulkan dengan angket tanggapan siswa. Seluruh data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa: (1) terjadi peningkatan motivasi belajar IPA (skor rata-rata motivasi belajar IPA siklus I = 104,93 dengan kategori cukup dan skor rata-rata motivasi belajar IPA siklus II = 121,48 dengan kategori tinggi), (2) terdapat peningkatan prestasi belajar fisika (nilai rata-rata prestasi belajar IPA pada siklus I = 76,30 dengan ketuntasan klasikal = 55%, dan nilai rata-rata prestasi belajar IPA siklus II = 85,74 dengan ketuntasan klasikal = 100%), (3) rerata tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran blended learning sangat positif dengan skor rata-rata 213,36. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model blended learning dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan prestasi belajar IPA siswa kelas VIII B SMP N 2 Sawan Semester Genap Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015.

This classroom action research aimed at (1) improving the student motivation, (2) improving the student achievement and, (3) describing the students' responses toward the application of blended learning models. This research was a classroom action research and was conducted in two learning cycles, each cycle consisted of four phases: 1) planning, 2) implementation, 3) observation/evaluation, and 4) reflection. The subject of this research was 27 students of class VIII B of SMP N 2 Sawan in academic year 2014/2015. Data of learning motivation were collected by using a science learning motivation questionnaire, data of science learning achievement were collected by using a science learning motivation questionnaire, and data of students’ responses were collected by using a student’s response questionnaire. Data were analyzed descriptively. The result of the research show that (1) there is an increasing in motivation to learn science (the average score of motivation to learn science cycle I is104.93 with the category “fair”, while the average score of the second cycle of motivation to learn science is121.48 with the category “high”), (2) there is an improvement of physics learning achievement (the average score of science learning achievement in the first cycle is 76.30 with the classical completeness 55%, and the average score of science learning achievement second cycle is 85.74 with classical completeness 100%), (3) The student response towards the application of blended learning teaching model is very positive with the average score 213.36. The results show that the application of the model blended learning can increase learning motivation and science learning achievement at class VIII B of SMP N 2 Sawan in Even Semester of Academic Year 2014/2015.
