Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan karakteristik permukaan logam aluminium melalui proses anodizing. Variabel bebas yang digunakan adalah besar beda potensial yang diberikan pada proses anodizing. Kualitas karakteristik permukaan logam aluminium ditentukan dengan analisis data yang berupa ketebalan dan lebar pori yang terbentuk selama proses anodizing yang diperoleh dari uji Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-ray. Pada penelitian ini digunakan logam aluminium dengan kemurnian 99% dengan ketebalan 3 mm berukuran 6 cm x 1,5 cm yang sudah dibersihkan menggunakan aquades, sabun, dan alkohol, selanjutnya direndam dalam larutan NaOH 1M selama 2 menit, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan proses anodizing dengan variasi beda potensial yang diberikan yaitu 15 V, 20 V, dan 25 V. Tahap selanjutnya dilakukan uji Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-ray terhadap sampel sehingga didapatkan data Ketebalan dan lebar pori yang terbentuk selama proses anodizing pada permukaan logam aluminium serta data komposisi penyusun logam aluminium hasil anodizing. Hasil analisis data ketebalan dan lebar pori yang diperoleh dari uji Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-ray menunjukkan beda potensial 25 V memberikan hasil yang paling baik.

The Aim of this study was to determine the characterization of aluminium surfaces that have been anodized. Independent variable of this experiment is voltage variations in anodizing processes. Quality of the aluminium surfaces is determined by analyzing data of the aluminium oxide pores thickness and width that occurred from Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-ray instrument test. In this study is used an aluminium metals with 99% purity with thickness approximately 3 mm and 6 cm x 1,5 cm dimension and have been cleaned by aquadest, soap, and alcohol. After that, it degreased with NaOH 1 M solution in 2 minutes and then continuing with anodizing processes with voltage variation (15 V, 20 V, and 25 V). The next step is it tested by Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-ray instrument. In these processes, the data of aluminium oxide pores thickness and width is occurred. Data of the composition of aluminium after anodized is occurred from Energy Dispersive X-ray test. The results show that the best condition of aluminium surfaces is occurred at 25 V.
