Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang mengikuti blended learning berbasis whiteboard animation video lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian Post Test Only Control Group Design. Adapun populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas VIII Non Unggulan SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII A.6 dan VIII A.4 yang diambil menggunakan teknik pemilihan sampel rumpun secara random. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika yang diberikan kepada siswa dalam bentuk tes uraian dan diberikan di akhir penelitian. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Uji-t satu ekor dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa t_hitung=4,669 > ttabel = 2,0048. Akibatnya H_0 harus ditolak. Hal ini berarti bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang mengikuti blended learning berbasis whiteboard animation video lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Lebih lanjut didapatkan bahwa rata-rata skor kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang mengikuti blended learning berbasis whiteboard animation video lebih dari rata-rata skor kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini beralasan karena dukung oleh fakta-fakta empiris bahwa siswa yang mengikuti blended learning berbasis whiteboard animation video lebih aktif, memiliki rasa ingin tahu lebih tinggi, dan lebih bersemangat dalam memecahkan masalah matematika dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional.

This study aimed at finding out whether the mathematical problem solving ability of students who took the blended learning based on whiteboard animation video is better than those who took the conventional learning. This study was a quasi experiment and used a Post Test Only Control Group Research Design. The population of this research was the non seed of grade 8 of SMP N 1 in Singaraja. The selected sample was the class VIII A.6 and VIII A.4, which were taken by using cluster random sampling technique. The data of this research was the mathematical problem solving ability, which was gathered by essay test and analyzed using one tail independent t-test with the 5% of significance level. The result indicated that the tscore = 4,669 is greater than ttable = 2,0048. It can be concluded that the null hypothesis must be rejected. It consequently means that the mathematical problem solving ability of students who took the blended learning based on whiteboard animation video is better than those who took the conventional learning. Furthermore, it is shown that the average score of the mathematical problem solving ability of students who took the blended learning based on whiteboard animation video is better than those who took the conventional learning. This result was strengthen by the fact that the students who took the blended learning based on whiteboard animation video were more active, more curious, and more enthusiastic in solving mathematical problems than those who took the conventional learning.
