Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

ARTICLE WRITING GUIDELINES

General Instruction:

  1. Articles submitted to the  Wahana Matematika dan Sains: Jurnal Matematika, Sains, dan Pembelajarannya must be the result of original research or literature review in the fields of mathematics and natural sciences (MIPA) or MIPA education. The article must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in any other journal. 
  2. Articles may be written in either Indonesian or English. Abstracts must be provided in both Indonesian and English, accompanied by keywords. The abstract should be between 100 to 300 words in length. Manuscripts must be prepared using MS Word with Times New Roman font, and printed on A4-sized paper. The page margins should be set as follows: top 3 cm, left 2 cm, right 2 cm, and bottom 2 cm. The length of the manuscript should be between 10 to 20 pages. 
  3. Tables and figures must be numbered and title. The titles of tables and figures should be writen in 9-point font, single-spaced. Tables should use horizontal lines only-at the column headings and the bottom of the tables. Figures should be in JPG or TIFF format, with a resolution of 100-300 dpi. 
  4. The writing format can be downloaded from the article template, and the structure of the article should follow the order outlined in the template as follow:

Research article format:

Title (written in sentence case format)

Author Information (names are written without academic titles, and must include department, faculty, institution, and email address)

Abstrak (in Indonesia) (written in a single paragraph using 10-point font with 1.5 line spacing. The abstract should include the research objectives, methodology, findings, and conclusions. It should be accompanied by a maximum of five keywords and written in Bahasa Indonesia)

Abstract (in English) (written in a single paragraph using 10-point font with 1.5 line spacing. The abstract should include the research objectives, methodology, findings, and conclusions. It should be accompanied by a maximum of five keywords and written in Bahasa inggris)

Introduction (this section should present the current developments in the field under study, supported by recent and primary literature. It should clearly state the research gap and articulate the objectives of the study).

Methods (this section should provide a comprehensive and detailed description of the research method, including the research design, subjects or population, objects or samples, research variables, data collection procedures, research instruments, and data analysis techniques).

Result and Discussion 

Result (This section presents the findings of the research, including statistical tests, formulas, calculations, and observations. The data analysis results should be presented in a coherent or integrated manner. Whenever possible, use tables, graphs, or figures to present results. Raw data that can still be processed should not be included. There is no need to repeat the description of results already shown in tables or figures.).

Discussion (This section discusses the scientific significance of the findings. It should provide a substantive interpretation of the results and compare them with previous findings based on relevant, up-to-date, and primary literature. The comparison should ideally highlight differences with previous research, suggesting a potential contribution to scientific advancement.)

Conclusion (This section summarizes the conclusions drawn from the research and, if applicable, provides suggestions for further research improvements. The conclusion should be written in narrative form and not as bullet points.)

Acknowledgements (if applicable,  this section acknowledges the support of institutions and/or individuals who assisted with the research and/or article writing, but who are not listed as authors.)

References (must include a minimum of 10 articles from reputable international journals, indexed international journals, accredited national journals, or national journals with ISSN, published no more than 10 years ago. References should follow APA style, and the use of reference management software such as Mendeley is recommended)

Literature review format:

Title (written in sentence case format)

Author Information (names are written without academic titles, and must include department, faculty, institution, and email address)

Introduction (this section should present the background of the problem and clearly state the research objective or problem formulation.)

Discussion (this section elaborates on the ideas or concepts being reviewed. The content may be presented in bullet or point form to organize key arguments or theoretical perspectives effectively.)

Conclusion (this section presents both the conclusion and recommendations, written as a unified narrative rather than in bullet points.)

Acknowledgements (if applicable, acknowledgments should be addressed to institutions and/or individuals who have contributed to the article's writing or development, but who are not listed as authors.)

References (must include a minimum of 10 articles from reputable international journals, indexed international journals, accredited national journals, or national journals with ISSN, published no more than 10 years ago. References should follow APA style, and the use of reference management software such as Mendeley is recommended)

Submission: Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word 97–2003 format and submitted via the journal's website: ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/JPM.

One author should be designated as corresponding author and provide the following information: 

  • E-mail address
  • Full postal address
  • Telephone and fax numbers

Please note that any papers which fail to meet our requirements will be returned to the author for amendment. Only papers which are submitted in the correct style will be considered by the Editors.
