SEXIST HATE SPEECH TERHADAP PEREMPUAN DI MEDIA: PERWUJUDAN PATRIARKI DI RUANG PUBLIK

Abstract

Salah satu dari sekian banyak fungsi media adalah memberikan kebebasan berekspresi, berpartisipasi dan berbicara kepada semua audiensnya. Namun, seiring dengan meningkatnya partisipasi audiens meningkat pula masalah terkait gender yang muncul dimedia. Ujaran kebencian yang seksis merupakan salah satu bentuk kekerasan berbasis gender yang sering dialami oleh perempuan dalam kehidupan seahri-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui telaah teoritisdalam menjelaskan mengapa ujaran kebencian seksis terhadap perempuan terjadi di masyarakat melalui perspektif gender. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa ujaran kebencian yang seksis terhadap perempuan adalah perwujudan budaya patriarki di ruang publik.
