Abstract

In line with the development of 21st century education, which currently emphasizes critical thinking, problem analysis, problem solving, decision making, and creating something new. This requires teachers to use a new paradigm in designing lesson plans that indicate Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). However, the implementation did not go according to plan. Therefore, this study aims to identify the contents of the Lesson Plans at SMK Negeri 3 Singaraja related to the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) indicator. A qualitative research design with a document study was used to analyze the data. Collecting data obtained qualitatively by conducting observations, document analysis, and interviews. The results showed that Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) was not stated in the entire Lesson Plans, but only found in some parts of the Lesson Plans. These results have implications for English teachers to develop the application of Higher Order Thinking (HOTS) in the content of the Lesson Plan.
