This is because students do not understand the concepts given. Students have low critical thinking skills, because in learning teachers do not use appropriate learning models and learning media that suit student characteristics. Teachers only use conventional learning models. Based on this, a learning model is needed that can improve critical thinking skills. This research aims to analyze the significant influence of the NHT type cooperative model assisted by concrete media on students' critical thinking abilities in fifth grade elementary school mathematics learning. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study was all class V totaling 217 students. The research sample was determined using a cluster random sampling technique which obtained class V of as many as 38 students as experimental class and class V as many as 30 students as the control class. The data collection method in this research is the test method, with the type of test used being the description test. Data obtained from the post-test results were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and inferential statistical analysis using the polled variance t-test. Based on data analysis, the results showed that the NHT type cooperative model assisted by concrete media had a significant effect on students' critical thinking abilities in fifth grade elementary school mathematics learning.
2024-07-10T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Ni Komang Ratih Purnama Putri, I Wayan Wiartahttps://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/TSCJ/article/view/78134Teams Games Tournament Learning Model to Improve Elementary School Students' Mathematical Creative Thinking Skills2024-11-17T15:28:03+00:00Ni Made Puspita Udianipuspita.udiani@undiksha.ac.idGusti Ngurah Sastra Agustikagn.sastra.a@undiksha.ac.idMaria Goreti Rini Kristiantari#mariagoretirini.kristiantari@undiksha.ac.id
The mathematical creative thinking skills of students are still relatively low and need to be improved. Thus, they need a learning model that can enhance their mathematical creative thinking skills. One of the solutions to this problem is the cooperative learning model using the Teams Games Tournament method. This research aims to analize the result of the Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model on grade IV students' mathematical creative thinking skills. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study consists of 251 students, selected using a cluster random sampling technique, with a description test used as the data collection method. Data on mathematical creative thinking skills, obtained from post-test results, were analyzed with descriptive statistical techniques and inferential statistical analysis, specifically the polled variance t-test. The polled variance t-test resulted in tcount (4.73539) > ttable (1.67528) with 5% significance level. According to the test results, it can be concluded that the Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model significantly affects the grade IV students' elementary school mathematical creative thinking skills. The TGT cooperative learning method can help students understand the concept of subject matter through solving real problems with daily life, peer tutor activities to deepen understanding of the material, playing games, and tournament activities.
2024-07-10T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Ni Made Puspita Udiani, Gusti Ngurah Sastra Agustika, Maria Goreti Rini Kristiantarihttps://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/TSCJ/article/view/78033Problem Based Learning Using Open Ended Questions Improves Students’ Mathematical Critical Thinking Ability in Elementary Schools2024-11-17T15:28:06+00:00Anak Agung Sagung Sinta Dwijayantianak.agung.sagung.3@undiksha.ac.idI Wayan Wiartaiwayan.wiarta@undiksha.ac.id
Primary school students' critical thinking abilities in mathematics are still very low. This is caused by teachers who only provide learning with rote concepts without any problem solving activities. Based on this problem, a learning model is needed that can help students learn the concept of problem solving in mathematics. So research was conducted which aimed to prove the effect of the Problem Based Learning model using Open-Ended Questions on critical thinking skills in class III students' mathematics learning. This research uses a non-equivalent control group research design. The population of this research was 324 students. The research sample was 31 students as the experimental group and 29 students as the control group. Data collection methods and instruments were obtained by giving essay tests. Data analysis uses descriptive statistical techniques and inferential statistical analysis with polled variance t-test. The results of the hypothesis test show that the Problem Based Learning learning model using Open-Ended Questions has an effect on critical thinking skills in mathematics learning for third grade elementary school students. The results of the research carried out provide a good contribution to mathematics learning in elementary schools. It is hoped that the results of this research can be used to develop future research ideas.
2024-07-10T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Anak Agung Sagung Sinta Dwijayanti, I Wayan Wiartahttps://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/TSCJ/article/view/78228Contextual-based Open-Ended Model Improves Numeracy Skills of Grade IV Elementary School Students2024-11-17T15:28:01+00:00Ayu Ngurah Tri Cintyawatiayu.tri.cintyawati@undiksha.ac.idNi Wayan Suniasihniwayan.suniasih@undiksha.ac.id
This research is motivated by numeracy problems that exist in elementary schools. Students tend to be more passive in learning mathematics because students have difficulty expressing mathematical arguments and ideas. Lack of innovation in the learning process makes students bored while studying. Therefore, an appropriate learning model is needed. This research aims to determine the effect of the contextual-based Open-Ended learning model on the numeracy abilities of fourth grade elementary school students. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The population in this study was all class IV elementary schools consisting of 9 classes with a total of 214 students. The sampling technique in this study was a cluster random sampling technique so that the sample obtained in this study was 28 people as the experimental group and 26 people as the control group. Numeracy ability data was obtained by administering an instrument in the form of an objective test in the form of a regular multiple choice. Student numeracy ability data was analyzed using the Polled Variance t-test. The results of the analysis show that there are significant differences between the experimental group and the control group. Thus, it can be concluded that the contextual-based Open-Ended model has an influence on the numeracy abilities of fourth grade elementary school students. The Contextual-based Open-Ended Model not only provides students with open problems related to real situations but can also guarantee openness to student activities in the learning process
2024-07-10T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Ayu Ngurah Tri Cintyawati, Ni Wayan Suniasih
