This problem of moodiness affects individuals. This research aims to analyze Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is integrated with the Redha Concept in dealing with the problem of depression among students. This study also adapts an approach that is in line with the cultural and spiritual values of the local community, with the hope of providing more relevant solutions to students' mental health problems. This experimental quantitative study involved 291 Sixth Form students who completed the 21-item Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS21) to measure their level of depression. Of this number, 12 students were randomly selected based on their depression stage to take part in the intervention session and complete the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ9) at pre- and post-intervention levels. Data analysis was carried out using the Friedman test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to assess changes in the stages of depression. The results of the study showed a significant reduction in levels of moodiness after therapy sessions, with median scores decreasing from 12.00 to 8.00 (p < 0.001). In conclusion, CBT integrated with the Redha Concept has the potential to be an effective approach in reducing student depression, with implications that show the importance of applying this approach on a wider scale to support students' mental well-being, especially in the cultural and spiritual context of Brunei society.
2024-11-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Noor Azimah Binti Sulaimanhttps://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/bisma/article/view/85107Intergenerational Trauma: Exploring Transmission Mechanisms in Post-Conflict Families2024-09-22T01:04:21+00:00Donnye Rura Ampingdonnyeamping@gmail.comMaria Goretti Adiyantidonnyeamping@gmail.comIrene Ludjidonnyeamping@gmail.com
Trauma due to communal conflict creates a lasting impact even after the conflict has ended. Trauma not only affects individuals who experience it directly, but also has an impact on the family and social environment, which in turn has an impact across generational boundaries. This study aims to explore and analyze the mechanisms of intergenerational trauma transmission in post-conflict families, where trauma can be transmitted both directly and indirectly through psychological, family, and social interactions. The approach used is qualitative with a case study design, involving parents who experience conflict and children who are not directly involved. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods, and their validity was strengthened using triangulation of data sources. The results of the study indicate that the transmission of trauma in families occurs through two main aspects: parenting patterns and the influence of the social environment. Parenting patterns that are formed from traumatic experiences of parents after conflict, especially those that have not been handled properly, tend to be overprotective and full of strict instructions. The social environment becomes a place for children to confirm the trauma received from parenting patterns which then strengthen the transmission of this trauma. These two aspects are interrelated in forming patterns and processes of intergenerational trauma transmission.
2024-11-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Donnye Rura Amping, Maria Goretti Adiyanti, Irene Ludjihttps://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/bisma/article/view/86231Resilience of Adolescent Victims of Sexual Violence in View of Family Support and Gender2024-11-01T01:28:07+00:00Afifah BidayahAfifahbidayah99@gmail.comYeni KarneliAfifahbidayah99@gmail.com
The increase in cases of sexual violence occurring among teenagers raises concerns about the psychological impact they experience. To face the impact, teenagers need resilience, which is how they can respond to the problems they experience more positively, endure difficult conditions, and bounce back. This research aims to analyze the resilience levels of adolescent victims of sexual violence in terms of family support and gender, as well as the differences. The research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive comparative methods and is deepened with interviews. The findings of the research show that 1) overall, the resilience level of adolescent victims of sexual violence is good, meaning they can endure despite experiencing trauma, 2) there is a significant difference in the resilience of adolescent victims of sexual violence when viewed from family support; the better the family support, the better the resilience, 3) there is a significant difference in the resilience of adolescent victims of sexual violence when viewed from gender; males have better resilience compared to females, 4) there is no interaction between family support and gender in explaining the resilience of adolescent victims of sexual violence.
2024-11-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Afifah Bidayah, Yeni Karneli https://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/bisma/article/view/78232Systematic Literature Review: The Role of Academic Buoyancy on Academic Achievement in High School Students and Its Implications for Guidance and Counseling2024-05-18T06:50:50+00:00Muhammad Habibimnurhabibi@upi.eduAhmanahman@upi.eduYaya Sunaryayayasunarya@upi.eduFeriantiferianti@upi.edu
Currently, a new study is needed that can provide benefits related to improving the quality of education. As an effort to improve the quality of education in high schools, there is an interest in studying the role of academic buoyancy in one of the basic goals that school students want to achieve, namely academic achievement. Academic buoyancy is the ability to survive and succeed in facing daily academic difficulties at school so that it is expected to have an effect on improving academic achievement. This study uses a systematic literature review method. Data collection was carried out using the PRISMA (Protocol Review Systematic and Meta-Analysis) statement method, with the help of the Harzing's Publish or Perish application on the Scopus database. The results of the study indicate that academic buoyancy has a positive effect on academic achievement, both directly, as a mediator of other variables, and as an indirect effect on academic achievement. The implications of the results of the study for guidance and counseling are discussed further in the discussion section.
2024-11-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Muhammad Habibi, Ahman, Yaya Sunarya, Feriantihttps://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/bisma/article/view/85008Behavioral Counseling Approach with Self Management Techniques to Increase Achievement Motivation in Underachiever Students2024-09-18T12:06:39+00:00Ida Ayu Putu Prahasti Negarisafiulumam165@gmail.comMuhamad Safiul Umamsafiulumam165@gmail.comKadek Suranatasafiulumam165@gmail.comPutu Ari Dharmayantisafiulumam165@gmail.com
Achievement motivation is an internal drive that drives individuals to achieve success in both academic and non-academic fields. In underachiever students, achievement motivation is very important because it activates untapped potential, encourages the development of learning skills, increases mental toughness, creates self-confidence, and independence. One of the effective counseling approaches in increasing achievement motivation in underachiever students is the behavioral counseling approach using self-management techniques. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the behavioral counseling approach using self-management techniques to increase achievement motivation in underachiever students. The design of this study was to use a one group pretest-posttest design with a population of 430 seventh grade junior high school students. Sampling used random sampling techniques and random class as an intact group, so that class VII.4 was obtained as a research sample. To test empirical validity, it was analyzed using the product moment correlation formula, while to test instrument reliability, it was analyzed using the Cronbach Alpha formula. Statistical tests used the T-test test to determine the effectiveness of the treatment that had been carried out. H0 is rejected if t count > t table. H0 is accepted if t count ≤ t table. Based on the H1 t-test, the calculated t was 11.131 while the t-table with db N-1 = 40 – 1 = 39 and a significance level of 5% (0.05) was 1.684, so it can be concluded that the behavioristic counseling approach with self-management techniques is effective in increasing achievement motivation in underachiever students.
2024-11-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Ida Ayu Putu Prahasti Negari, Muhamad Safiul Umam, Kadek Suranata, Putu Ari Dharmayantihttps://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/bisma/article/view/86207Individual Counselling Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy to Overcome Anxiety in Adolescent Victims of Sexual Violence2024-11-01T01:19:24+00:00Lita Fitara Canialitafitara599@gmail.com Yeni Karneliyenikarneli@fip.unp.ac.id
This study is motivated by the occurrence of sexual violence against young women today which is carried out by force by the perpetrator. Effective communication if utilized properly has the potential to prevent and resolve problems or conflicts between individuals, groups, tribes, nations, and races. Efforts to improve students' interpersonal communication skills are carried out by providing material mastery services through small group discussion learning models. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of material mastery services through small group discussion learning models by comparing achievements before and after treatment. This study uses quantitative methodology. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. The study population was junior high school students, with samples taken using the Purposive Sampling technique, namely two classes classified as moderate interpersonal contact, both of which are equivalent. This study uses the Likert Scale paradigm for data collection, which is then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test, facilitated by SPSS version 26. This study concludes that topic mastery services using the small group discussion model effectively improve students' interpersonal communication skills. The gap in interpersonal communication skills between students in the experimental group, who received content mastery services through a small group discussion model, and those in the control group, who were only given structured content mastery services, was 0.000, indicating a probability below 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05).
2024-11-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Rizki Kurniawan, Neviyarni https://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/bisma/article/view/84883Parenting Patterns with Science Literacy Skills of Four Grade Elementary School Students 2024-10-16T02:37:18+00:00Ayu Rusmaladewiayu.rusmaladewi@undiksha.ac.idPutu Nanci Riastiniputunanci.riastini@undiksha.ac.idAdrianus I Wayan Ilia Yuda Sukmanaaiwiy-sukmana@undiksha.ac.id
Most students still have low interest in science. This ultimately affects the dynamics of social interaction between siblings. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of interaction and contributing factors. Participants consisted of 4 people, namely 2 pairs of siblings from 2 families (1 sibling with ASD and 1 sibling without ASD from each family). The method used was qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews and observations of all participants and parents. The results of the study showed that there were actions that influenced each other's behavior in daily interactions due to various contributing factors including gender, birth order, age, sibling behavior, and parental roles. Interactions between siblings, one of whom had ASD, ultimately still occurred even though more dynamics and obstacles were found, but harmonious interactions or conflicts that occurred could be strengthened or reduced. This depends on the approach and support from those closest to them in helping children with ASD and their siblings respond to and manage situations in daily interactions. These findings indicate the importance of exploring the role of siblings, which is often overlooked, even though they are the closest figures. Sibling interactions can improve social skills, strengthen emotional bonds, and enhance well-being for children with ASD and their siblings. The four processes of achieving self-efficacy show events that occur in individuals that influence situations such as emotional conditions that prioritize themselves rather than the influence of others. This study uses a qualitative approach to case study design with data collection techniques through semi-structured interviews and data analysis using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the self-efficacy of blind students is born from the support of parents and the campus environment. Parental support is a motivation for him to take music courses. The results of the study showed a significant correlation between empathy and cyber violence, where individuals with low levels of empathy tend to engage in violent behavior online. Self-control is also significantly correlated with cyber violence; low levels of self-control are associated with detrimental behavior online. An interesting finding is the role of parents, where poor emotional relationships and lack of parental supervision contribute to cyber violence. No correlation was found between peer influence and cyber violence, indicating that social learning theory is stronger in the context of delinquent behavior with peers than cyber violence. Empathy also acts as a mediator between self-control and cyber violence, where high empathy strengthens the positive influence of self-control in avoiding detrimental behavior online.
