ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN PENGEMBANGAN MODEL PRO-BBL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN FISIKA SMA

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian dalam analisis kebutuhan ini sebagai berikut. 1) Menganalisis studi literatur tentang (a) konsep-konsep suhu dan kalor yang esensial dan strategis, (b) menganalisis karakteristik model Pro-BBL. 2) Melakukan studi lapangan, tentang (a) konsep-konsep suhu dan kalor esensial dan strategis yang telah diterapkan, (b) Sarana dan prasarana laboratorium dan ICT yang tersedia, (c) referensi sebagai sumber belajar yang tersedia, (d) metode yang biasa diterapkan guru, dan (e) kendala-kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam pembelajaran.

Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA berdasarkan klasifikasi nilai ujian nasional fisika. Kelompok SMA yang terpilih adalah klasifikasi B, C, dan D, yaitu, SMAN 1, SMAN 4, dan SMAN 3 Singaraja. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan daftar Isian, melakukan observasi dan wawancara.

Hasil analisis kebutuhan, sebagai berikut. 1) Produk kegiatan studi literatur adalah (a) daftar konsep­konsep suhu dan kalor esensial, (b) karakteristik model Pro-BBL meliputi, dasar teori, tujuan, sintaks, dan lingkungan belajar. 2) Produk kegiatan studi lapangan adalah (a) daftar konsep-konsep esensial yang telah dikaji sesuai dengan yang tertuang dalam literatur, namun belum diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, (b) daftar alat lab dan ICT yang tersedia cukup memadai, namun belum tersedia media web yang mewadahi model Pro-BBL, (c) daftar referensi sebagai sumber belajar cukup memadai, namun belum tersedia referensi yang bermuatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, (d) metode yang biasa diterapkan guru adalah metode diskusi, ceramah, dan kadang-kadang kooperatif, PBL dan Web, (e) kendala-kendala dalam PBL dan web adalah masalah waktu relatif lama, sulit menyiapkan masalah ill-structure, hanya kelompok tertentu yang bisa memecahkan masalah, akses internet lambat, dan belum ada rujukan mana web yang inovatif.

Abstract

This study on need analysis was aimed at the following objectives. 1) to analyze literature on (a) the essential and strategic temperature and heat concepts, (b)to analyze the characteristics of Pro-BBL model, 2) to do a field study about (a) essential and strategic temperature and heat concepts that have been applied, (b) to analyze laboratory infrastructure and facilities and ICT available, (c) to analyze the available references for learning, (d) to analyze methods usually used by the teachers, and (e) to find out the constraints faced by the teachers in teaching.

The subjects were the tenth grade students of SMA based on the classification of national examination in physics. The SMA groups selected were Classifications B, C, and D, that is, SMAN 1, SMAN 4, and SMAN 3 in Singaraja. The data were collected by a check list, observation and interview.

The results of the needs analysis, as follows. 1) The products of literature study are (a) a list of essential temperature and heat concepts, (b) The characteristics of Pro-BBL model that cover basic theory, purpose, syntax, and the learning environment. 2) Product of the field study activity are (a) a list of essential concepts that have been reviewed in accordance with that stated in the literature, but has not been implemented to improve critical thinking skills and problem solving skills, (b) a list of laboratory instruments and ICT available adequate, but not yet available web media that embodies the model Pro-BBL, (c) a reference list as a learning resource adequate, but not yet available reference charged critical thinking skills and problem solving skills, (d) the methods usually applied by the teachers are the method of discussion, lectures, and sometimes cooperative, PBL and the web, and (e) the constraints in the PBL and the web is a matter of a relatively long time, it is difficult to prepare ill-structure problems, only certain groups can solve the problem, internet access is slow, and there is no reference where the web innovative.
