Abstract

Kata-kata kunci: dissolved organic matter, dissolved organic carbon, total dissolved nitrogen, masukan.

Abstract: The objective of this research was to study the sources of dissolved organic matter (DOM) at West Pass, Gulf of Mexico. Water samples were collected from several depths on 5 different locations perpendicular to coastline. Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentration and total dissolved nitrogen (TDN) concentration were measured using DOC Analyzer equipped with nitrogen detector. Result shows that DOM on West Pass is dominated by freshwater input from Apalachicola River. However, autochthonous DOM is also reflected from the result. Meanwhile, chlorophyll-a data shows that there are other processes than photosynthesis produce DOC on that location.
