Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic was announced first time in Indonesia in early 2020 which had a broad impact on the economy, including the banking sector. Employee performance is not optimal, especially in marketing and service performance to customers. This study aims to analyze the role of job satisfaction in mediating the effect of career development on employee performance. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling. Data was collected by interview and using a questionnaire. Analysis was using PLS-based SEM. The results showed that career development and job satisfaction had a positive significant effect on employee performance, career development had a positive significant effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction partially mediates relationship between career development and employee performance. The implications of this research theoretically support the findings of previous research and studies related to the theory of two factors, namely job satisfaction is determined by the motivation factor or hygiene factor.
