The study was aimed to determine the influence of the problem-based learning model toward the basic passing technique of volley ball. This type of research was a real research experiment (true experiment) by using the design of the randomized pretest-postest control group the same subject design. The sample of this study was the student of VIII A3 and VIII A9 class in the junior high school number 1 school, Singaraja on 2016/2017 lesson which consist of 56 students. The sample was done by using simple random sampling. The data was collected through pretest and posttest. The data analysis was using Uji-t supported by 22.0 SPSS for Windows. The average data value which collected was 54 on the prestest of experiment group, while a control group was 56. The average value of posttest in the experiment group was 85, while a control group was 68. he average gain score normalization obtained in each group was in the experimental group of 0.65 while the control group experienced 0.26. So we can conclude that, the problem-based learning model had a significant effect on the passing basic technique of volley ball. It was recommended to the teacher's learning process in which the teacher can applyed the problem-based learning model to being an alternative learning that can be applied.
