This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model type Group Investigation (GI) on the learning outcomes of basic techniques of passing volleyball (passing up and passing down). This study is a real experimental study using the randomized pretests-posttest control group design of the same subject design. The subjects of the study were VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja in the Lesson Year 2016/2017 amounting to 559 people distributed into fifteen classes, namely class VIII 1 to class VIII 15. The drawing of experimental group and control group was done by simple random sampling. Learning result data is collected through essay test, observation and performance. Data analysis using T-Test manually using Microsoft Excel 2013. In the experimental group obtained an average value of 84.73 with a standard deviation of 4.64. While in the control group obtained an average value of 81.18 with a standard deviation of 4.39. The significance figures obtained by t test are <0.05. Thus it can be concluded that the model of cooperative learning type GI positive effect on the learning outcomes of basic techniques passing volleyball student class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja Lesson Year 2016/2017, as well as suggestions for other researchers to examine other bound variables, using other materials with due regard to constraints - constraints that have been faced, for Practitioners PJOK, GI type cooperative learning model can be used as an alternative model of learning in the field.
