This research aimed to determine the effect of implementing cooperative learning model Group Investigation (GI) to the learning outcomes of basic techniques of passing volley ball. This research was a true-experimental researching the randomized pretest-posttest control group the same subject design. The population was students of class IX SMP Negeri 3 Banjar academic year 2016/2017 yhat distributed into twelpe class. Sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Data were collected through essay tests, observation and performance tests. Data analysis using t-test with SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The result of research shows the difference learning outcome volley ball passing between students who following learning model cooperative type GI with average on gain score 0,18 and standard deviation 0,11. Significance on tests of normality was 0,200 (experimental group) and 0.52 (control group). Significance on tests of homogenity was 0,273, and test-t was p=0,000..Based on the above exposure, implementation of learning model cooperative type GI effect significantly to the result of learning basic techniques passing volley ball. Thus it can be concluded that GI type cooperative learning model has a significant effect on the improvement of learning outcomes of basic technique of passing volley ball on the students. And this learning model can be used as an alternative learning that can be applied in the classroom.
