PENERAPAN METODE FIELD TRIP SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS KARANGAN DESKRIPSI SISWA DI KELAS VII A.3 SMP NEGERI 1 SINGARAJA

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengetahui peningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi dengan menerapkan metode field trip di kelas VII A.3 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, (2) mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi dengan menerapkan metode field trip yang diterapkan oleh guru di kelas VII A.3 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, (3) mengetahui respons siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi dengan penerapan metode field trip di kelas VII A.3 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas VII A.3 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, sedangkan objeknya adalah keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi dengan menerapkan metode field trip. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, tes, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan metode field trip dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa. Pada rekfleksi awal, sebelum menerapkan metode field trip, skor rata-rata menulis karangan deskripsi adalah 62, sedangkan pada siklus I, yakni setelah menerapkan metode field trip, skor rata-rata siswa adalah 79,36. Setelah diberikan tindakan pada siklus II, skor rata-rata siswa adalah 81,93. Persentase peningkatan skor rata-rata tersebut dari refleksi awal ke siklus I sebesar 17,36%, dan peningkatan skor rata-rata dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 2,57%. Dengan demikian, total peningkatan skor rata-rata siswa adalah 15,93%. Dari peningkatan tersebut, ketuntasan belajar klasikal yang dicapai siswa sudah memenuhi tuntutan yang diharapkan.Kata Kunci : field trip, menulis, deskripsi
This study aims to (1) to know and the increase students skills in essay writing descriptions by applying the method on a class field trip in class VII A.3 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, (2) describe the steps of learning to write essays description field trip in class VII A.3 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, (3) to know the students response in writing essays with the application description method Field Trip in class VII A.3 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja. This study uses action research design or study follow-grade (PTK). The subjects were teachers and students in class VII A.3 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, while the object is a description essay writing skills by applying the method of field trips. Data collection method used is the method of observation, tests, interviews, and questionnaires. This study used a qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The result show the method field trip in teaching essay writing descriptions can improve students’ ability to write essays description. At the beginning of reflection, before applying the method of field trips, the average score was 62 to write essays description, main while in the first cycle, that is after applying the method of the field trip, students’ average score was 79,36. After given the action in the second cycle, the score average student is 81,93. The percentage increase in the average scores of reflection early to the first cycle of 17,36%, and an increase in the average score from the first cycle to the second cycle of 2,57%. So, the total increase in the average score of students was 15,93. From the increasing, completeness classical learning achieved by students who already meet the expected demand.
