PENERAPAN STRATEGI DIRECTED READING THINKING ACTIVITY (DRTA) BERBANTUAN MEDIA GAMBAR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA CERPEN PADA SISWA KELAS VII E SMP NEGERI 4 KUBUTAMBAHAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan penerapan strategi DRTA berbantuan media gambar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca cerpen pada Siswa Kelas VII E SMP Negeri 4 Kubutambahan, (2) mendeskripsikan dapat tidaknya penerapan strategi DRTA berbantuan media gambar meningkatkan keterampilan membaca cerpen pada siswa kelas VII E SMP Negeri 4 Kubutambahan, dan (3) mendeskripsikan respons siswa terhadap penerapan strategi DRTA berbantuan media gambar pada siswa kelas VII E SMP Negeri 4 Kubutambahan.Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas VII E SMP Negeri 4 Kubutambahan, sedangkan objeknya adalah keterampilan membaca cerpen dengan penerapan strategi DRTA berbantuan media gambar. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, metode tes, dan metode kuisioner. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi DRTA berbantuan media gambar dalam membaca cerpen (1) dilakukan melalui beberapa langkah sesuai dengan perencanaan pembelajaran yang sudah dirancang oleh guru, (2) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca cerpen siswa. Peningkatan tersebut terlihat pada hasil kemampuan membaca cerpen siswa setelah digunakannya penerapan strategi DRTA berbantuan media gambar. (3) Siswa memberikan respons yang positif dalam mengikuti pembelajaran membaca cerpen dengan penerapan strategi DRTA berbantuan media gambar.Kata Kunci : strategi directed reading thinking activity (DRTA), membaca cerpen.
This study aims to (1) describe the application of media-assisted image DRTA strategies to improve reading skills in the short story Seventh Grade Students of SMP Negeri 4 Kubutambahan E, (2) whether or not the implementation of the strategy described DRTA media aided drawing skills improve reading short stories in class VII E SMP 4 Kubutambahan country, and (3) describe the response of students to the application of image media strategy aided DRTA on class VII E SMP N 4 Kubutambahan. This study uses action research design (TOD), which is conducted in two cycles. The subjects were teachers and students of class VII E SMP N 4 Kubutambahan, while the object is the application of skills to read short stories DRTA strategy aided drawing media. Data collection method used is the method of observation, test methods, and questionnaire method. The data obtained were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the application of media-assisted image DRTA strategies in reading short stories (1) is done through several steps in accordance with a learning plan that has been designed by teachers, (2) to improve students' ability to read short stories. The increase was seen in the results of students' ability to read short stories after the implementation strategy used DRTA aided drawing media,(3) the students give positive response in learning of short story reading through the implementation of DRTA strategy with media of pictures.
