PEMANFAATAN OBJEK LANGSUNG UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS PARAGRAF DESKRIPSI SISWA KELAS XD SMA NEGERI 1 KINTAMANI

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah pembelajaran menulis paragraf deskripsi dengan pemanfaatan objek langsung pada siswa kelas XD SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani; (2) mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan menulis paragraf deskripsi dengan pemanfaatan objek langsung pada siswa kelas XD SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani; dan (3) mendeskripsikan respons siswa kelas XD SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani terhadap pemanfaatan objek langsung dalam menulis paragraf deskripsi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas XD SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani yang berjumlah 29 orang. Objek penelitian ini adalah kemampuan siswa dalam menulis paragraf deskripsi, langkah-langkah pembelajaran, dan respons siswa terhadap pemanfaatan objek langsung dalam menulis paragraf deskripsi. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, tes, angket kuesioner, dan wawancara. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif-kualitatif dan deskriptif-kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, (1) terdapat beberapa langkah yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis paragraf deskripsi siswa; (2); pemanfaatan objek langsung dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis paragraf deskripsi siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dalam perbandingan skor rata-rata klasikal yang diperoleh sebelum tindakan, siklus I, dan siklus II, yakni pada pratindakan skor rata-rata klasikal 70 (cukup), siklus I memperoleh skor rata-rata klasikal 76,7 (cukup), sedangkan pada siklus II nilai rata-rata klasikal siswa menjadi 82,6 (baik) (3) siswa memberikan respons sangat positif terhadap pemanfaatan objek langsung dalam menulis paragraf deskripsi siswa. Oleh karena itu, penulis sangat mengharapkan kepada guru bahasa dan sastra Indonesia di SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani agar menerapkan model pembelajaran pemanfaatan objek langsung untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis paragraf deskripsi siswa sesuai dengan langkah yang ditemukan dalam penelitian.Kata Kunci : objek langsung, menulis paragraf deskripsi
This classroom action research is aimed at (1) describing the learning steps in writing descriptive paragraph using direct object at grade XD of students in SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani; (2) describing the students’ improvement in writing descriptive paragraph by using direct object at grade XD of in SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani; (3) describing the students’ responses toward the use of direct object in writing descriptive paragraph. The subjects in this research were the teacher and 29 of students at grade XD of SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani. The objects of this research were students’ abilities in writing descriptive paragraph, the learning steps, and the students’ responses toward the use of direct object in writing descriptive paragraph. The methods of this research were observation, test, questionnaire, and interview. The data analysis used were descriptive-qualitative and descriptive-quantitative analysis. The result of this research showed that (1) there were some effective steps to improve students’ skill in writing descriptive paragraph; (2) the use of direct object could improve students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraph. This can be seen from the classical average score before the implementation of the strategy, cycle I, and cycle II, in which, in pre-implementation, the classical average score was 70 (enough), in cycle I the classical average score was 76,7 (enough), meanwhile in cycle II the classical average score was 82,6 (good); (3) the students gave positive responses toward the use of direct object in writing descriptive paragraph. Therefore, the researcher suggests to the Indonesian language and literature teacher in SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani to apply the direct object learning model to improve the students’ skill in writing descriptive paragraph based on the steps which were found in this research.
