PENERAPAN STRATEGI KWL (KNOW, WANT TO KNOW, LEARNED) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA INTENSIF SISWA DI KELAS VII D SMP NEGERI 1 SAWAN

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan penerapan strategi KWL (Know, Want To Know, Learned) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca intensif di kelas VII D SMP Negeri 1 Sawan, (2) mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah penerapan strategi KWL untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca intensif siswa di kelas VII D SMP Negeri 1 Sawan, (3) mendeskripsikan respons siswa di kelas VII D terhadap penerapan strategi KWL di SMP Negeri 1 Sawan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas VII D SMP Negeri 1 Sawan yang berjumlah 37 orang. Objek penelitian ini adalah peningkatan hasil, langkah-langkah, dan respons siswa dalam penerapan Strategi KWL. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode tes, observasi, angket/kuesioner, dan wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) tercapainya ketuntasan hasil belajar membaca intensif siswa berkat diterapkannya strategi KWL, yakni pada pratindakan skor rata-rata klasikal 69,92, siklus I memperoleh skor rata-rata klasikal 77,9, dan pada siklus II nilai rata-rata klasikal siswa menjadi 84,6, (2) terdapat beberapa langkah penerapan strategi KWL antara lain Know, yaitu yang diketahui, Want To Know yang ingin diketahui, Learned adalah belajar dan (3) siswa memberikan tanggapan sangat positif terhadap penerapan strategi KWL dalam pembelajaran membaca intensif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan (1) Penerapan strategi KWL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca intensif siswa. (2) Langkah-langkah yang ditempuh dalam menerapkan strategi KWL dalam pembelajaran membaca intensif sangat efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca intensif siswa. (3) Penerapan strategi KWL pada pembelajaran membaca intensif mendapat respons positif dari siswa. Oleh karena itu, peneliti lain disarankan untuk menerapkan strategi KWL, sebagai salah satu strategi pembelajaran, pada mata pelajaran bahasa yang lain pada umumnya dan pada pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, pada khususnya.Kata Kunci : strategi KWL, membaca intensif
Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to (1) describe the application of strategies KWL (Know, Want To Know, Learned) to improve the ability of intensive reading in class VII D SMP Negeri 1 Sawan, (2) describe the implementation of measures to improve the KWL strategy intensive reading ability of students in class VII D SMP Negeri 1 Sawan, (3) describe the responses of students in class VII D to the KWL strategy implementation in SMP Negeri 1 Sawan. Subjects in this study were teachers and students of class VII D SMP Negeri 1 Sawan totaling 37 people. Object of this study was the increase in yield, the steps, and the response of students in the application of the KWL strategy. Data collection methods used in this study is a method of testing, observation, questionnaire / questionnaires, and interviews. Data were analyzed using descriptive techniques of quantitative and qualitative description. The results of this study were (1) the achievement of mastery of learning outcomes of students thanks to the implementation of intensive reading KWL strategy, ie, on average pratindakan classical score 69.92, cycle I gained an average score of 77.9 classical, and the second cycle average value classical average students into 84.6, (2) there are several steps KWL strategy implementation among others Know, which is known, Want To Know who want to know, Learned is learning and (3) students responded very positively to the application of learning strategies in the KWL intensive reading. Based on these results, we can conclude (1) Application of KWL strategy can improve students' reading skills intensive. (2) The steps to be taken in applying the KWL strategy in highly effective teaching intensive reading can improve students' reading skills intensive. (3) application of learning strategies on intensive reading KWL received a positive response from students. Therefore, other researchers suggested to apply the KWL strategy, as a learning strategy, on the other language subjects in general and the Indonesian lesson, in particular.
