KAJIAN FEMINISME TERHADAP NOVEL TEMPURUNG KARYA OKA RUSMINI DAN KESESUAIANNYA SEBAGAI BAHAN PEMBELAJARAN SASTRA DI SMA

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan (1) unsur-unsur struktural dalam novel Tempurung karya Oka Rusmini; (2) perjuangan tokoh perempuan dalam novel Tempurung karya Oka Rusmini; dan (3) kesesuaian materi perjuangan perempuan dalam novel Tempurung karya Oka Rusmini sebagai bahan pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Subjek penelitian ini adalah novel Tempurung karya Oka Rusmini, sedangkan objek penelitiannya adalah feminisme dalam novel Tempurung karya Oka Rusmini dan kesesuaiannya sebagai bahan pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Unsur-unsur struktural yang dianalisis dalam novel Tempurung karya Oka Rusmini adalah tema, penokohan atau perwatakan, amanat, latar, dan alur. Tema yang diangkat dalam Tempurung adalah perbedaan hak antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Tokoh yang digambarkan dalam Tempurung terdiri atas sembilan belas tokoh dengan latar belakang yang hampir sama. Amanat yang ingin disampaikan oleh pengarang melalui novel ini supaya tidak ada diskriminasi terhadap perempuan. Latar dalam novel menceritakan bahwa peristiwa terjadi di Bali. Alur yang digunakan adalah alur mundur. (2) Perjuangan perempuan dalam novel Tempurung karya Oka Rusmini dilakukan dalam empat bidang, yaitu bidang pendidikan ditandai dengan kegigihan seorang perempuan menuntut ilmu, ekonomi ditandai dengan usaha keras perempuan merintis usaha dari kegemarannya, keluarga ditandai dengan kesabaran seorang istri menyikapi sikap suami yang tidak bertanggung jawab, dan sosial ditandai dengan usaha seorang perempuan membuktikkan bahwa perempuan mampu melahirkan ide-ide mutakhir. (3) Materi perjuangan perempuan dalam novel Tempurung karya Oka Rusmini memiliki kesesuaian sebagai bahan pembelajaran sastra di SMA sesuai dengan kriteria pemilihan materi pelajaran yang diuji secara internal. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, peneliti lain diharapkan dapat melakukan penelitian secara internal dan eksternal.Kata Kunci : kajian feminisme, perjuangan perempuan, kesesuaian sebagai bahan pembelajaran sastra, novel Tempurung
This study aimed to describe (1) structural elements in a novel entitled Tempurung written by Oka Rusmini; (2) women’s struggles in the novel entitled Tempurung written by Oka Rusmini; (3) and appropriateness of the material of the women’s struggles in the novel entitled Tempurung written by Oka Rusmini as a material in teaching literatures in senior high school. The subject of this study was the novel entitled Tempurung written by Oka Rusmini, while the objects of this study were feminism and its appropriateness as a material in teaching literatures in senior high school. The data collection method used in this study was documentation method. The data were analysed by using descriptive qualitative technique. Here are the results of the study. (1) The structural elements analysed in the novel entitled Tempurung written by Oka Rusmini were theme, characterization, message, setting, and plot. The theme of the novel was right difference between men and women. The characters illustrated in the novel consisted of nineteen characters with settings that were almost similar. The message that was conveyed by the author through the novel was that there should be no discrimination towards women. The settings of the novel illustrated that the incidents were occurred in Bali. The plot used was flash back. (2) The women’s struggles were done in four fields including education showed by the persistence of a woman to study, economy showed by the efforts of a woman in working based on her passion, family showed by the patience of a wife facing her husband who was irresponsible, and social showed by the efforts of a woman to prove that women were able to generate advanced ideas. (3) The material of the women’s struggles in the novel entitled Tempurung written by Oka Rusmini had appropriateness as a material in teaching literatures in senior high school which was suitable with the criteria of the teaching material selection internally examined.
