PENERAPAN MODEL COOPERATIVE INTEGRATED READING AND COMPOSITION (CIRC) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN TEKS DISKUSI PADA SISWA KELAS VIII. 4 SMP NEGERI 2 SINGARAJA

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks diskusi siswa di kelas VIII.4 SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja; (2) mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks diskusi siswa melalui model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) pada siswa kelas VIII.4 SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja; dan (3) mendeskripsikan respons siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks diskusi siswa di kelas VIII.4 SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah salah satu guru bahasa Indonesia dan siswa kelas VIII.4 SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, tes, kuesioner, dan wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) ada peningkatan aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam membaca pemahaman teks diskusi dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran CIRC. Hasil yang diperoleh juga meningkat; (2) skor rata-rata siswa pratindakan adalah 68. Pada siklus I, skor meningkat menjadi 78,95, dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 82,5; dan (3) respons siswa yang berkaitan dengan minat, bakat, sikap, motivasi, dan tujuan juga meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II, yakni dari 44,07 menjadi 47,11. Peneliti menyarankan agar hasil penelitian ini dapat diterapkan oleh guru bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks diskusi siswa.Kata Kunci : membaca pemahaman, teks diskusi, model CIRC
The objective of this research are (1) to describe the activity of the teachers and the students in the implementation of learning model of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) to increase reading comprehension text discussion ability of the eighth 4 grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraj;, (2) to describe the students enhancement of reading comprehension text discussion ability through Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model of the eighth 4 grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja; in addition; and (3) to describe students’ respond of the implementation of CIRC learning model for increase the ability of reading comprehension text discussion of the Eighth 4 grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja. This research was classroom action research. The subject of this research is one of Indonesia language teacher and the eighth 4 grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja. The method that were used to collect the data were observation, questionnaire test, and interview. The data were analyzed by using quantitative and qualitative analysis technique. The result of research showed that was (1) enhancement of teachers and students activity in learning reading comprehension text discussion process of the implementation of CIRC learning model. The findings clearly increased too; (2) the mean score of the students was 68. In the first cycle the score increased to 78.95 and more increased in cycle II to 82.5; dan (3) the student’s respond which related to their interests, talents, attitudes, motivations, and intensions also increased in cycle I to cycle II from 44.07 to 47.11. The researcher suggest the finding of this research could applied by Indonesia language teachers to increase the students’ reading comprehension text discussion ability.
