PENGARUH REWARD DAN PUNISHMENT TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPS (Studi Pada SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja Kelas VIII Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh: (1) reward terhadap motivasi belajar siswa, (2) punishment terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dan (3) pengaruh reward dan punishment terhadap motivasi belajar siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja kelas VIII tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian kausal. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja kelas VIII. Sampel diambil sebanyak 114 orang siswa. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis regressi linier berganda dengan bantuan program statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) for windows versi 16. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) reward berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa ditunjukkan dari nilai thitung > ttabel (4.156 > 1.982) atau p-value < α (0.000 < 0.05), (2) punishment berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa ditunjukkan dari nilai thitung > ttabel (4.392 > 1.982) atau p-value < α (0.000 < 0.05), (3) reward dan punishment secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa ditunjukkan dari nilai Fhitung > Ftabel (33.819 > 3.078) atau p-value < α (0.000 < 0.05).

This study aimed at examining the effect of: (1) reward on students’ learning motivation, (2) punishment on the students’ learning motivation and (3) the effect of reward and punishment on students’ learning motivation at SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja in class VIII in the academic year of 2015/2016. This study was a kind of causal research. The population in this study were the students of SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja in class VIII. The total number of the samples in this study were 114. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of the program statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) for Windows version 16. The results of this study showed that: (1) rewards had a significant effect on students’ learning motivation, it can be seen from the results of the significance test in which t test obtained tcount > ttable (4,156> 1,982) or p-value < α (0.000< 0.05), (2) punishment had a significant effect on students’ learning motivation, it can be seen from the value of tcount > ttable (4.392 > 1.982) or p-value < α (0.000 < 0.05), (3) reward and punishment simultaneously had a significant effect on students’ learning motivation, it can be seen from the value of Fcount > Ftable (33.819 > 3.078) or p-value < α (0.000 < 0.05).
