Kajian Semiotika Fotografi Selfie

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) bentuk fotografi selfie di lingkungan teman facebook penulis, (2) makna fotografi selfie di lingkungan teman facebook penulis dikaji melalui teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan menggunakan teknik observasi, teknik studi kepustakaan, teknik wawancara dan teknik life history. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Bentuk Fotografi Selfie ditinjau dari teori potret diri terdiri dari tujuh bagian pokok: (a) Potret Diri sebagai Tanda Tangan, (b) Potret Diri sebagai Proyeksi Diri, (c) Potret Diri sebagai Studi Diri, (d) Potret Diri sebagai Fantasi (e) Potret Diri sebagai Narasi, (f) Potret Diri sebagai Kiasan, dan (g) Potret Diri sebagai Masalah Kemanusiaan. (2) Makna Fotografi Selfie dikaji dari teori semiotika Roland Barthes terdiri dari enam elemen penting: (a) Efek Tiruan, (b) Pose atau Sikap, (c) Objek, (d) Fotogenia, (e) Estetisisme, dan (f) Sintaksis.

This research is aimed to describe (1) the form of selfie photography in the friend circle of the writer’s facebook, (2) the meaning of selfie photography in the friend circle of the writer’s facebook which is observed using the theory of semiotics proposed by Roland Barthes. Kind of study used is descriptive qualitative research. The method of data collection is using observasion method, library study, interview and life history.The result of the current study shows that (1) the form of selfie photography observed using self-photograph theory which consists of seven major categories: (a) self-potrait as a signature, (b) self-potrait as a self-projection, (c) self-potrait as a self-study, (d) self-portrait as a fantasy, (e) self-potrait as a narration (f) self-potrait as metaphorical, and (g) self-potrait as a reflection of human issue. (2) the meaning of photography selfie observed using the theory of Roland Barthes covers six important elements: (a) Forgey effect, (b) Pose or behaviour, (c) The object, (d) Photogenic, (e) Aesthetic, dan (f) Syntactic.
