Pengembangan Buku Ajar Kimia Kelas XI Semester I Berbasis Argumen Toulmin

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan (1) karakteristik buku ajar kimia kelas XI semester I berbasis argumen Toulmin, (2) validitas produk yang dikembangkan berdasarkan penilaian ahli isi dan pedagogi, praktisi dan uji keterbacaan, (3) efektivitas produk, (4) kepraktisan produk. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) mengikuti prosedur penelitian dan pengembangan Borg dan Gall. Tahap penelitian yang dilakukan sampai tahap validasi ahli dan praktisi, uji keterbacaan, efektivitas dan kepraktisan. Hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data hasil penelitian meliputi data pada tahap analisis kebutuhan (studi literatur dan studi lapangan), data hasil perencanaan produk, data hasil pengembangan produk awal, data hasil validasi ahli dan praktisi, data hasil uji keterbacaan, efektivitas dan kepraktisan produk. Produk pada penelitian ini berupa buku ajar kimia kelas XI semester I berbasis argumen Toulmin. Karakteristik buku ajar yang dikembangkan yaitu menyajikan argumentasi Toulmin pada setiap paragraf argumentasi. Buku ajar yang dikembangkan mendapat penilaian dengan kategori valid dari ahli isi dan pedagogi serta kategori sangat valid dari praktisi. Hasil uji keterbacaan menunjukkan tingkat keterbacaan siswa terhadap buku pelajaran kimia berada dalam kategori baik dan sangat baik. Buku ini tergolong efektif dan sangat praktis. Berdasarkan hasil uji yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku ajar kimia kelas XI berbasis argumen Toulmin memiliki validitas yang memadai. Kata kunci: argumentasi Toulmin, buku ajar kimia Abstract This research was aim to describe (1) the characteristics of chemistry textbook class IX semester 1 based on Toulmin’s argument, (2) product validity developed based on expert content and pedagogy assessment, practitioner and legibility test, (3) product effectiveness, (4) practicality products. This type of research was research and development (R&D) following Borg and Gall research and development procedures. This research was carried out until the validation stage of expert and practitioner, legibility test, effectiveness and practicality. The data were analyzed by using descriptive technique. The results include data on needs assessment (literature study and field study), product planning data, develop preliminary of product data, expert validation and practitioner data, product legibility test data, effectiveness and practicality product. The product in this research is chemistry textbook class IX semester 1 based on Toulmin’s argument. Characteristics of textbooks developed that presents Toulmin's argument on every paragraph of argumentation. The developed textbooks were assessed with valid categories from content experts and pedagogy as well as highly valid categories of practitioners. The results of legibility test showed the level of legibility of students of chemistry textbooks are in good and very good category. This book is effective and very practical. Based on the results of tests conducted it can be concluded that the chemistry textbook class IX semester 1 based on Toulmin’s argument have adequate validity.
