Selama ini perempuan dalam seni rupa Bali seringkali hanya ditempatkan sebagai objek belaka. Sesungguhnya, dalam karya perempuan perupa kontemporer Bali terdapat ideologi yang bekerja di baliknya. Artikel ini mengungkap dan mendeskripsikan ideologi gender yang bekerja di balik representasi visual Ni Nyoman Sani. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa ideologi gender yang bekerja di balik karya Ni Nyoman Sani yaitu perihal konsumtifisme peran gender atas pemanfaatan peran gender. Pembahasan ini diharapkan bisa memberi pemahaman yang luas dan mendalam bagi publik seni tentang ideologi gender yang bekerja di balik proses kreatif Ni Nyoman Sani

Abstract

So far, women in Balinese art are often only placed as mere objects. Indeed, in the work of contemporary Balinese women artists there is an ideology that works behind it. This article uncovers and describes the gender ideology that works behind the visual representation of Ni Nyoman Sani. This article concludes that the gender ideology that works behind Ni Nyoman Sani's work is about the consumptiveism of gender roles over the use of gender roles. This discussion is expected to provide a broad and in-depth understanding for the art public about the gender ideology that works behind the creative process of Ni Nyoman Sani
