Ferrous metal (Fe) is a material that has good mechanical properties and is very strong physically, so it is often used in building construction, but has the disadvantage of being easily corroded. As a form of maintaining the safety of building construction, a coating protection is needed so that corrosion that occurs can be minimized. Radiator coolant has cold properties and oil paint as a coating in an effort to passively reduce the corrosion rate by having a long term use of ferrous metal (Fe). The purpose of this research is to conduct research or research that aims to determine the role of the radiator coolant waste coating method and quenching treatment-based oil paint in reducing the problem of corrosion rates in ferrous (Fe) metals. Based on the results of calculations in the tests performed, it shows that the coating method with radiator coolant waste media and oil paint based on quenching treatment can play a role in reducing the problem of corrosion rates in ferrous (Fe) metals.
