Pengaruh Metode Demonstratsi Berbantuan Media Audio Visual terhadap Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan Anak Kelompok B di TK Gugus Jempiring Kecamatan Denpasar Barat

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan membaca permulaan antara kelompok anak yang dibelajarkan melalui metode demonstrasi berbantuan media audio visual dan kelompok anak yang dibelajarkan melalui pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan rancangan penelitian adalah rancangan kelompok non-ekuivalen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh anak kelompok B TK Gugus Jempiring Denpasar Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan random sampling. Data hasil pre-test dianalisis untuk menguji kesetaraan kelompok sehingga di dapat dua kelas yakni PAUD Kusuma 2 Denpasar sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan TK Buana Kumara Asih sebagai kelompok kontrol. Pada akhir penelitian kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol diberikan post-test kemampuan membaca permulaan dengan menggunakan rubrik penelitian observasi. Data hasil post-test dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat thitung=7,590 dan ttabel= 2,000 (pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan dk = 46). Oleh karena thitung 7,590> ttabel 2,000 maka terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan membaca permulaan antara kelompok anak yang dibelajarkan melalui metode demonstrasi berbantuan media audio visual dengan kelompok anak yang dibelajarkan melalui pembelajaran konvensional. Rata-rata kemampuan membaca permulaan yang diperoleh antara kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (76,48>65,13). Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode demonstrasi berbantuan media audio visual berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak kelompok B TK Gugus Jempiring Denpasar Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017.Kata Kunci : metode demonstrasi, media audio visual, kemampuan membaca permulaan
This research aimed at investigating the difference of early reading ability between group of children who was taught through demonstration method assisted by audio visual media and group of children who taught by conventional teaching. This quasi-experimental research implemented the non-equivalent control group design. The population of this research was all children of group B of cluster Jempiring, Denpasar in Academic Year 2016/2017. This research applied the random sampling. The result of pre-test was analyzed to examine the equality of the groups so that there were two classes namely PAUD Kusuma 2 Denpasar as the experimental group and TK Buana Kumara Asih as the control group. At the end of the treatment, both experimental and control group were administered post-test of early reading ability which was observed by using rubric of observation assessment. The result of the post-test was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics through independent sample t-test. Based on the findings, tobs was 7.590 and tcv was 2.000 (α = 0.05 or 5% and degree of freedom of 46). Thus, tobs was higher than tcv (7.590 > 2.000). It means that there was a significant difference of the early reading ability between group of children taught by implementing demonstration method assisted by audio visual media and group of children who taught conventionally. The average score of the early reading ability obtained by experimental group scored higher than the control group (76.48> 65.13). In conclusion, demonstration method assisted by audio visual media gave contribution on the children early reading ability of group B in kindergarten of cluster Jempiring, Denpasar in academic year 2016/2017.
