PENERAPAN METODE BERMAIN PUZZLE GEOMETRI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PERKEMBANGAN KOGNITIF ANAK DALAM MENGENAL BENTUK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan perkembangan kognitif anak dalam mengenal bentuk setelah diterapkan metode bermain Puzzle Geometri pada kelompok A semester II di TK PGRI Singaraja Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 10 orang anak yang terdiri dari 7 laki – laki dan 3 perempuan. Data penelitian tentang perkembangan kognitif dalam mengenal bentuk dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis statistik deskriptif dan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan perkembangan kognitif dalam mengenal bentuk setelah penerapan metode bermain Puzzle Geometri pada siklus I sebesar 71,50% yang berada pada kategori sedang ternyata mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 91,00% yang tergolong pada kategori sangat tinggi. Jadi, terdapat peningkatan perkembangan kognitif dalam mengenal bentuk pada anak setelah diterapkan metode bermain Puzzle Geometri sebesar 19,50%.Kata Kunci : metode bermain, Puzzle Geometri, perkembangan kognitif
The aim of this research was to study the improvement within cognitive development in knowing shape after the application of the playing method Geometric Puzzle to the A group children TK PGRI Singaraja during the second semester in the academic year 2013/2014. This study is a classroom action-based research which was carried out in two cycles with 10 children as the subjects consisted of 7 males and 3 females. The data on the cognitive development in knowing shape were collected by observation method. The data in this reasearch were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis methods. The result of the data analysis shows that there was 71.50% improvement for the cognitive development in knowing shape after the application of the playing method Geometric Puzzle in the first cycle, which can be categorized as average, then, in fact it was 91.00% in the second cycle as a very high category. Therefore, the improvement for the cognitive development in knowing shape after the treatment was 19.50%.
