PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE GI TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS IV SD DI GUGUS III KECAMATAN KUBUTAMBAHAN

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan membaca pemahaman yang signifikan antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran GI (Group Investigation) dan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model Pembelajaran Konvensional pada siswa kelas IV di Gugus III Kecamatan Kubutambahan tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Penelitian ini adalah termasuk eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian non-equivalent post test only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD di Gugus III Kecamatan Kubutambahan yang berjumlah 71 siswa. Sampelnya adalah SD No 1 Bengkala dan SD No 2 Bengkala, sampel diambil dengan cara random sampling. Data keterampilan membaca pemahaman ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa tes pilihan ganda. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial menggunakan uji-t pooled varian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, terdapat perbedaan keterampilan membaca pemahaman yang signifikan antara kelompok siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran GI (Group Investigation) dengan kelompok siswa yang belajar menggunakan model Pembelajaran Konvensional. Dimana thitung > ttabel (3,18 >2,045). Dengan demikian berarti pembelajaran GI (Group Investigation) berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman daripada model pembelajaran konvensional.

This research aimed at finding out the significant difference on reading comprehension skill between the group of students taught by Group Investigation (GI) instructional model and the other group taught by conventional instructional model in which the students were in the grade 4, semester 1, in the group 3 of Kubutambahan sub-district, in the academic year 2013/2014. This research belongs to quasi-experimental research which was designed by using non-equivalent post test only control group design. The population of this research was all students in the grade 4, semester 1, in the group 3 of Kubutambahan sub-district in which the number was 71 students. Moreover, the sample of this research was SD No 1 Bengkala and SD No 2 Bengkala in which the sample was taken by means of random sampling. The data of the students' reading comprehension skill were gathered by using instrument in the form of multiple choice test. The data which had been gathered were analysed by means of descriptive statistic analysis and inferential statistic analysis using pooled varian t-test. Based on the result of the data analysis, there was significant difference on reading comprehension skill between the group of students taught by using Group Investigation (GI) instructional model and the other group taught by using conventional instructional model in which t value > t table (3,18 >2,045). Therefore, Group Investigation (GI) gave positive effect toward the students' reading comprehension skill rather than conventional instructional model.
