PENERAPAN KONSELING BEHAVIORAL DENGAN STRATEGI SELF MANAGEMENT MODEL YATES UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMANDIRIAN BELAJAR SISWA KELAS X AKOMODASI PERHOTELAN 3 SMK NEGERI 2 SINGARAJA TAHUN PELAJARAN 2013/2014

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan bimbingan konseling ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemandirian belajar siswa pada kelas X di SMK Negeri 2 Singaraja dengan penerapan konseling behavioral strategi Self Management model Yates. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas Akomodasi Perhotelan 3 di tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Jumlah siswa adalah 33 siswa dengan 16 siswa perempuan dan 17 siswa laki-laki. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus, setiap siklus terdapat enam langkah yaitu identifikasi, diagnosa, prognosa, treatmen, evaluasi dan refleksi. Data diperoleh melalui tiga jenis instrumen seperti: wawancara, kuesioner, dan observasi. Kriteria ketuntasan minimal adalah 65%, tetapi pada observasi awal ditemukan 5 siswa yang mempunyai masalah dalam kemandirian belajar seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh skor rata-rata siswa yaitu 57.94% (kategori rendah). Setelah diberikan tindakan, 2 siswa masih mempunyai masalah, jadi siswa perlu diberikan tindakan lanjutan. Nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat mencapai 71.77% pada siklus I yang dikategorikan sedang. Peningkatanya yaitu 13.83% dari observasi awal ke siklus I. Akhirnya, skor rata-rata siswa dapat mencapai kriteria sangat tinggi dengan nilai 88.80% pada siklus II. Peningkatanya yaitu 16.23% dari siklus I ke siklus II. Dari hasil observasi, ditemukan bahwa strategy Self Managemnet model Yates membantu siswa untuk meningkatkan kemandirian belajar. Hasil ini juga didukung oleh catatan harian (log sheet) yang dibuat oleh siswa. Jadi, konseling behavioral strategi Self Managemnet model Yates dapat meningkatkan kemandirian belajar siswa.

This action research in counseling aimed at improving students’ directed learning of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Singaraja by using Self Management Strategy Yates Model. The subjects of the study were the students of Akomodasi Perhotelan 3 in academic year 2013/2014. The total number of subjects was 33 students consisting of 16 female and 17 male students. This study comprised two cycles; each cycle involved six steps, namely identification, diagnose, prognose, treatment, evaluation, and reflection. The data were obtained through three kinds of instruments namely: interview guide, questionnaire and observation. The school minimum passing grade was 65%, however on preliminary observation was found that 5 students had problem in directed learning as revealed by the mean score of 57.94% (insufficient category). After the treatment was conducted, 2 students still had problem so the students needed to be given the treatment. The mean score increase to 71.77% in cycle I (sufficient category). The improvement was 13.83% from preliminary observation to cycle I. Finally, the students’ mean score could reach a very good category which was 88.80% in cycle II. The improvement was 16.23% from cycle I to cycle II. From the result of observation, it was found that Self Management Strategy Yates Model helped them improve their directed learning. This result was also optimized by the students’ log sheet. In addition, Self Management Strategy Yates Model could improve their directed learning.
