PENERAPAN KONSELING RASIONAL EMOTIF DENGAN FORMULA ABC UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HARGA DIRI SISWA KELAS XI MIA 1 SMA NEGERI 2 SINGARAJA 2014/2015

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan harga diri siswa melalui penerapan konseling rasional emotif dengan formula ABC. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan bimbingan konseling dengan prosedur penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap identifikasi, diagnosa, prognosa, konseling/treatment, evaluasi/follow up, dan refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 orang siswa kelas XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. Untuk memperoleh data, digunakan metode pengumpulan data berupa pedoman observasi dan pedoman wawancara sebagai metode pengumpulan data pendukung serta kuesioner sebagai metode pengumpulan data utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pada harga diri siswa. Pencapaian skor harga diri siswa pada siklus I terhadap 4 orang, yaitu 76,00%. Dari hasil tersebut, 2 orang siswa belum memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan sehingga perlu untuk melanjutkan treatment ke siklus II. Pada siklus II pencapaian skor harga diri siswa yaitu dari 76,00% menjadi 85,00% terhadap 4 orang siswa. Keempat orang siswa yang dijadikan subjek penelitian sudah mencapai ketuntasan yang ditentukan karena skor telah melebihi 70%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan konseling rasional emotif dengan formula ABC efektif untuk meningkatkan harga diri siswa.Kata Kunci : konseling rasional emotif, formula ABC, harga diri
This study aims to know the improvement the students’ self-esteem through implementing emotive rational counseling with ABC formula. The kind of this study is an action research on counseling that is conducted by implementing two cycles. Each of the cycle consists of identification process, diagnosing, prognosis, counseling/treatment, evaluation/follow up, and reflection. Subjects of this study are 4 eleventh graders of mathematics and science class 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. To obtain data, the data collection method used observation and interview method of complementary data collection and questioner to get the main result.The results showed an increase in self-esteem in students. Scores achievement on self-esteem of the four subjects in the first cycle that is 76.00%. Based on these results, two students had not fulfilled the passing criterion so that they do need to proceed to the second cycle. In the second cycle scores achievement on self-esteem of the remaining four subjects was 76.00% that improved into 85.00%.The four subjects had fulfilled the passing criterion set in advance because the scores had passed 70%. Based on the aforementioned scores achieved, it can be concluded that emotive rational counseling with ABC formula is able to improve the students’ self-esteem.
