Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif, subjek penelitian adalah anak kelompok B TK Ganesha Denpasar Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 berjumlah 13 orang yang terdiri dari 6 anak laki-laki dan 7 anak perempuan. Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dengan dua siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: (1) rencana tindakan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi atau evaluasi, dan (4) refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik non-tes, dengan instrument yaitu lembar observasi. Selanjutnya, data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata presentase kemampuan kognitif pada siklus I sebesar 55%, berada pada kriteria rendah. Selanjutnya mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 89%, berada pada kriteria tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode pemberian tugas berbantuan bentuk geometri dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif pada anak kelompok B TK Ganesha Denpasar.

This research aims to determine the improvement of cognitive abilities, the subjects were children in B group TK Ganesha Denpasar school year 2013/2014, which amounts to 13 children with 6 boys and 7 girls. This study is a classroom action research conducted by two cycles, each cycle consists of four stages: (1) plan of action, (2) implementation of the action, (3) observation or evaluation, and (4) reflection. Data collection technique using non-test technique, the instrument is the observation sheet. The data collected was analyzed by quantitative descriptive method. Research result in the first cycle is 55% are at a low criteria. Subsequently increased at second cycles to 89% are at high criteria. Conclusions of this research that the application of the assignment method through geometric forms of media can improve cognitive ability of children in B group TK Ganesha Denpasar.
