The aim of this study was to determine the effect of shaping technique with positive reinforcement toward the anxiety of child’s separation in classroom setting. Separation anxiety negatively impact child’s social interaction and his classroom learning acitivities. This negative impact could increase if the anxiety aren’t handled appropriately. Behavioral techique has been proven effective in handling child with separation anxiety. Therefore, this study involved behavioral technique called shaping with positive reinforcement as an intervention to child with separation anxiety. This single case experimental study used A-B design, the A phase involved baseline observations of the natural frequency and the B was the intervention phase where the technique applied. Quantitative data were analyzed visually (visual inspection) using inter-condition and between condition analysis, also the qualitative data were presented in narrative form. The result of the study showed that shaping with positive reinforcement technique have an influence to child with separation anxiety, indicated by the decreasing of separation anxiety’s symptomps and the increasing of child’s autonomy in classroom.
