PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE THINK PAIR SQUARE TERHADAP PENGUASAAN KOMPETENSI PENGETAHUAN IPS SISWA KELAS IV SD NEGERI GUGUS UNTUNG SURAPATI DENPASAR TIMUR

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan Model Pembelajaran Think Pair Square dengan siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas IV Negeri SD Gugus Untung Surapati Denpasar Timur. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan non-equivalen control group desain. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Negeri di Gugus Untung Surapati yang terdiri dari 229 siswa. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 71 siswa , 37 siswa kelas IV SDN 7 Sumerta sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan sebanyak 34 siswa kelas IV SDN 14 Dangin Puri sebagai kelas kontrol. Penentuan kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol menggunakan teknik random sampling. Pengumpulan data penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS dilakukan dengan metode tes dan instrument yang digunakan adalah berupa tes objektif pilihan ganda biasa. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Rata-rata hasil kompetensi pengetahuan IPS siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Think Pair Square lebih tinggi dengan rata-rata 82,27 dibandingkan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional dengan rata-rata 72,11.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan Model Pembelajaran Think Pair Square dengan siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pembelajaran konvensional dengan t hitung = 5,22 ; sedangkan pada taraf 5% dan dk= 69 diperoleh nilai t tabel = 2,00. Hal ini berarti H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Model Pembelajaran Think Pair Square berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Gugus Untung Surapati Denpasar Timur.Kata Kunci : pembelajaran think pair square, kompetensi pengetahuan IPS.
The purpose of this research is to know the significant difference of mastering the competence of IPS knowledge between the groups of students who are taught by the Think Pair Square Learning Model with the students who are taught through conventional learning in grade 4 students of SD Negeri Gugus Untung Surapati, East Denpasar. This research is a quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent design group design. The population of this research is all the fourth grade students of State Elementary School in Untung Surapati Cluster consisting of 229 students. The sample in this research are 71 students, 37 students of grade IV SDN 7 Sumerta as experiment group and as many as 34 students of grade IV SDN 14 Dangin Puri as control class. The determination of experimental group and control group using random sampling technique. The collection of competency knowledge knowledge of IPS data is done by the test method and the instrument used is in the form of ordinary double choice objective test. Data were analyzed using t-test. The average result of IPS knowledge competence of students who learned using Think Pair Square Learning Model is higher with an average of 82.27 compared to students who were taught by conventional learning with an average of 72.11. The results showed that there were significant differences in competency Knowledge of IPS between groups of students who were taught by Think Pair Square Learning Model with students who were taught through conventional learning with t count = 5.22; While at level 5% and dk = 69 obtained t value table = 2,00. This means H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. Thus it can be concluded that the Learning Model Think Pair Square significantly influence the mastery of IPS knowledge competence in fourth grade students of State Elementary School Untung Surapati East Denpasar.
