This research aims to determine the significant differences in problem solving skills of Mathematics between groups of students who follow the learning with the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by LKS media and group of students who follow the learning by using conventional learning model in grade V students. The sample of this research is students of class V SD N 2 Datah which amounted to 31 people and students of class V SD N 5 Datah which amounted to 24 people. Data of students' mathematical problem solving skills was collected using an essay test. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistic analysis, t-test. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in the ability of problem solving mathematics problems of five grade students of semester II in Buleleng District V cluster significantly between groups of students who follow the learning model Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by LKS media with groups of students following the conventional learning model (thitung> ttabel, thitung = 22,4 and ttable = 2.021). Based on the above findings, it is concluded that Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by LKS media has a positive effect on mathematical problem solving ability compared with conventional learning model.
