Abstract

This study supposed to determine the significant differences of science group competencies that applied by environmental based of discovery learning models that taught by using conventional learning model in fourth grades Elementary School Srikandi District Denpasar East In school year 2016/2017. The design of this research was quasi experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research was all the fourth grade students of SD Srikandi District of East Denpasar that need 364 people. Samples were taken with purposive sampling technique. The sample in this research was the students of grade IVA SDN 10 Sumerta with the number of 32 students as experimental group and fourth grade students of SDN 8 Sumerta with 36 students as control group. Datas collection were done by using test method in multiple choice form. The datas obtained were analyzed by using the t-test. The results of the data analysis obtain tvalue = 6,020 while at the level of significance of 5% and dk = 66 results ttable = 2,000 so tvalue = 6,020> ttable = 2,000. Base on the test criteria it can be conclude that Ho is refuse and Ha is receive. The average value gain score of science knowledge in the group that taught by environmental-based discovery learning model is 0,502, while the group that is taught by conventional learning is 0,213. Based on these results can be concluded that found the influence of environmental based of discovery learning models of student science knowledge competency in fourth grade Elementary School Srikandi District East Denpasar Year undergraduate year 2016/2017.
