ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the differences in IPS learning outcomes between groups of students who were taught by the model of Problem Posing learning and group of students who were taught by conventional model in class V in Kerinci IV Teaching Cluster 2016/2017. This type of research is quasi experimental research. The population of this study is all students of class V that exist in Gilt IV Kerinci Melaya District 2016/2017 academic year which amounted to 103 people. The sample of this research is a group of students of class V SD Negeri 2 Candikusuma which amounted to 21 people as experimental class and group of students of grade V SD Negeri 4 Candikusuma which amounted to 20 people as control class. Student learning outcomes data were collected with multiple choice test instruments. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis (t-test). Based on the result of data analysis, obtained tcount 6,558 and ttable (at 5% significance level) = 2,021. This means that thitung> ttable, so it can be interpreted that the learning result of IPS group of students who are taught by model of Problem Posing learning is higher than the student group that is taught by conventional learning model.
