Abstract
Lest optimal result on mathematics often make unsatisfied for the teacher. It was caused by less innovative learning and low utilization of media. In line with that reason this experiment was conducted to know the significant difference result between students who were taught by open ended cooperative teaching and students who were taught by conventional teaching for the five grader of SD Gugus II Mengwi, Badung Regency in academic year 2013/2014. This research was quasi experimental research and used nonequivalent control group design. Populations of this research were students of five grader of SD Gugus II Mengwi, Badung Regency in academic years 2013/2014 consisted of 8 classes with 265 students. Sample of this research was determined by random sampling and it was selected 2 classes consisted of 80 students. The students’ results in mathematics in this research were combinations of cognitive which were gathered from test and affective which were gathered from observation during the teaching process. The data were analyzed by t-test. Based on the significant level of 5% and db = 78 value ttable = 2,000, while the value of the test is based on thitung = 3.44. The result showed significant differences in students’ result between experiment group and control group. Based on that result could be concluded that open ended cooperative learning which assisted with audio visual media had significant effect to the result on mathematics of five grader of SD Gugus II Mengwi Badung Regency in academic year 2013/2014.
