Abstract
This study aims to determine significant differences between the learning outcomes of students who take the social studies group learning using problem-based learning model of media-assisted index card match with a group of students who take conventional learning in grade fifth SDN Gugus 8 Gianyar Academic Year 2013/2014. This study is a quasi-experimental study with the study design used is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students grade fifth SDN Gugus 8 Gianyar Academic Year 2013/2014. Samples were taken by purposive random sampling technique. Social studies student learning outcomes data collected by instruments in the form of multiple choice tests. Data were analyzed using t-test with a sample variance formula polled. Average learning outcomes of students who take the social studies group learning using problem-based learning model assisted media card index match is greater than the group of students who take the conventional teaching (80.21> 71.48). From the analysis of the data obtained t 5.291. While the difference ttabel with df 72 at 5% significance level is 2.000. This means that t is greater than t table (5.291> 2.000). So that there are significant differences between the learning outcomes of students who take the social studies group learning using problem-based learning model of media-assisted index card match with a group of students who take conventional learning. It can be concluded that the problem-based learning model of media-assisted card index match affects the outcome of grade fifth social studies SDN Gugus 8 Gianyar Academic Year 2013/2014.
Key words: Problem-based learning model, media index cards match, the results of social
