This study aims to determine significant differences in learning outcomes between students who are learning social studies with the active learning strategy types Index Card Match with students learning with conventional learning in the fifth grade elementary school students Force III Mengwi, Badung Academic Year 2013/2014. The study was a quasi-experimental research design that uses Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study population was all students of class V Semester 1 SD Force III Mengwi Academic Year 2013/2014. With the sample is determined by random sampling. The research sample is SD N 2 Sempidi as the experimental group numbered 34 and SD N 4 Sading as the control group numbered 35 students. Learning outcomes data collected by the IPS test techniques such as multiple choice objective test usual. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by t-test. The results of hypothesis testing with the t-test showed tcount = 2,708, while the ttable with dk = 67 and a significance level of 5% figure obtained hypothesis rejection limit 2.00. Based on testing criteria, tcount > ttable (2.708 > 2.00), so that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This means that there are significant differences between the results of social studies students learn through active learning strategy types Index Card Match with students who learn through conventional learning. Based on these results it can be concluded that the type of active learning strategies Index Card Match IPS effect on learning outcomes of students in grade V Force III Mengwi, Badung Academic Year 2013/2014.
